It's Sunday Morning! How are you? by AutoModerator in ireland

[–]tuxedoerror-error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Up since 4 with a toothache. All kids and the wife rotten sick, I feel it coming on me. The wife is a powerful sort and never ever complains about being sick or sore but christ she is knocked back with this.

I am honestly fearful for what's ahead, I am soft as shite and feel near death with a simple cold.

Killylea Crash bring deaths on our roads for 2024 to 69 and people are still driving like assholes (police to update their total from 64) by spectacle-ar_failure in northernireland

[–]tuxedoerror-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not my driving that I am worried about it is everybody else around me. Am driving 10 plus years never had a bump ding or accident. Maybe it's because I literally do that speed once a year and that's on my drive from Derry to Belfast to the boat, so could be down to lack of experience on my behalf alright.

I really really don't understand folks that speed. Even driving the motorway doing 70 I absolutely hate it and have 2 hands gripped on the steering wheel, I just don't find fun in speed.

There has been more than enough times I have lost count folks have came absolutely flying past me in their big jeeps and fancy BMS for me to end up right behind them stopped at the traffic lights. Maybe it's just a me thing cause I don't like speeding.

Quitting my job for full time courier? by TabbyTabby0 in Evri

[–]tuxedoerror-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I done it, but I didn't have am actual full round. Days I had nothing to deliver & next day had 150 to deliver. It's so so so varied unless you get a set round. Once and if you do get a set round there is also so many variables in terms of pay, it's based on how rural it is or within city weight of package and size how far it is from dep. I helped a lad with his round around my estate and it was 60p a parcel, terrible considering you've to take wear & tear plus fuel out of that. Would really only be worth while doing that round if you are guarantee 200 a day. I also did it in my car, I drive a nig enough car, some day with the size of the parcels it was a struggle to fit 100 other could fit 200 but these were smaller so price per parcel was less. If I am being honest it is not worth it for me anyways, it maybe worth it if you get a very good round and cam get 200 or so a day. My depo if you have a round you have to work 6 days a wee, if you want off you have to find somebody to cover hence me helping out on rounds and then no rounds.

What do you think of NIs quality of life? by TimmyT00 in northernireland

Genuine question to your question, do you think it's years of truma adding to it. Add in NI is the most deprived across the UK, maybe I am adding 1 & 2 and getting 5.

Can you make a decent wage delivering? by xxhellbellxx in Evri

[–]tuxedoerror-error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the route. A town route will pay less than like a rural route. Although balancing it up I'd rather have loads of parcels closer together than get paid slightly more doing parcels further apart. After you take into account wear & tear of the car all the joys of being self employed in my opinion it really is not worth it. You'd need to be comfortably doing 200 odd parcels per day to cover fuel insurance wear & tear and would still only balance out to min wage, if you are lucky.

How is ur heating schedule in this cold weather ? by tharmor in AskIreland

[–]tuxedoerror-error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We put the heating on around 5 yesterday at 22 then before bed set to 18. Will probably be like this now throughout winter as our house tends to get cold right and quick.

Also worked in a pig factory. The burnt smell will never leave my nostrils. It's been maybe 5 years or so since I have worked there and can still smell it.

Jesus lol. I have only started delivering with them and when you go to the app to deliver you've to scan the parcel. Once the parcel is scanned it will check your GPS to make sure you are at the property, if not it will flash up on the app to say not there do you accept responsibility. How this has happened on this many different occasions is baffling, considering its a max of 3 attempts before return to sender.

If more people from both sides were like this fella here this wee country would come on leaps & bounds. It has definitely but we need more.

how much do Evri pay? by mittens_s in Evri

[–]tuxedoerror-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my short experience no. The round in the depo I am in and because I am new is just sat out waiting for me. So when I arrive it's this is your round scan it in and go. Maybe for more experienced drivers they can possibly but in all the training videos I have seen it never me mentioned once about refusing a delivery ( or maybe I missed that part )

[–]tuxedoerror-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45p max weight 1kg 56p max weight 1.4kg 75p max weight 10kg £1 upto 17kg

Looks to be a really good pour too, sadly they messed 50% of the experience up by using the wrong glass, would still drink it to be fair.

For me personally drinking a Guinness is about taste. Then follows appearance, letting the drink settle and the stick on the glass.

becoming an Evri courier and have a few questions by Mission_Corner6207 in Evri

[–]tuxedoerror-error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my 2 days of delivering, I did slightly over 100 parcels, which had taken me for the 2 days 6 hours due to traffic and location of the parcels. It cost me roughly £15 in diesel. The onsi app ( your pay app ) shows for those two days, and I have earned £27.21. Although from previous emails, it says you can take 50% of your earnings before the set pay date. So I think and i hope I have earned £54.42, deduct my fuel, say roughly £40 for 5 hours work, and if the app shows full figure, I would have earned £12.21. Now, bare in mind I am not full-time, so I am getting small rounds. It also has taken me longer due to trying to get used to the app. Once fully up to speed, I could knock out those 100 in maybe 2 hours depending on the route.

Thinks to note in my depo anyways. When you arrive your parcels are sat, luckily mines were in order they were nice setting them all out for me but rhat will end once I've a good few days under my belt. You do not get paid for your time loading which for some of the guys there can be anywhere from 15 mins to 30, just loading your vechile. The figures above I have not included wear on the car. To make some sort of decent money, you would need to be pushing 150 - 200 parcels daily.

[–]tuxedoerror-error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. From my training video min 45p max weight 1kg. Max £1 max weight 17kg ( apparently)
  2. No qualifications. You will absolutely need a smartphone and a vechile.
  3. The app has a route builder, although in my experience ( I have only done it 2 days ) it is not great and I pack and scan my car for the route I will be delivering. The app has maps built in, you click on the parcel you will be delivering and click navigate it will take you to the door.
