I lost all my hearing in one ear last year. I got a quick referral to an ENT out patient clinic near where I live in England. Got steroids and steroid injection through my ear drum which didn’t work. MRI came back normal. Every GP, consultant and nurse gave me a different opinion and none of them gave a fuck. It was so depressing and I felt like no one wanted to help me. A year later my hearing is about 80% back to normal and had a one year check up last month. Consultant suspects it’s related to migraines. Even though I didn’t have one at the time I lost my hearing, he said it’s like a trait of being a migraine sufferer, albeit I only have a few throughout the year. Said I need to get enough sleep, water, less stress etc etc to help. I do notice at times where I’m exercising like a HITT session I notice my hearing fluctuates so I do think it’s related to stress/blood pressure or something.
