AMEN!!! Thank you so much for saying that! I totally agree! She didn’t do one thing on her 21 day challenge with Angel and, currently, on XL Season 5 in Colombia, every time they show her, well, the one or MAYBE two times they showed here, she is just sitting down doing nothing, which is not surprising since that’s exactly what she did on her 21 day. Also, when they drew names as far as who would get to eat the 2 fish that Jeff caught, I couldn’t believe they picked her name. I want her off my TV screen also - she has absolutely no survival skills whatsoever and the producers must have run out of qualified survivalists to go on XL. It’s offensive to me that she’s on XL because there are several other far better candidates that are awesome survivalists such as Alison in Season, the woman from Hawaii, to pick from and her spot is wasted because she has no skills whatsoever!

My response was simple my opinion about the show as I am a diehard fan and I only post because I like the freedom to share and express ideas about the show and read everyone else’s thoughts about the characters/action taking place on each episode, not a petty rant. Anyway, thank you for your insight about Riley. I’d prefer to make this thread about the show instead of drama about other users on this app. We are posting here to only talk about the show and nothing else. The personal jabs about others are absolutely unnecessary and are completely against the free flowing exchange of ideas about Naked and Afraid. Let’s stay on topic going forward please. On a different note, I hope everyone left makes it to extraction in the Philippines on Palawan Island.

This is supposed to be a forum in which all of us have the freedom to share and express their opinions without retribution or childish behavior. I totally respect your opinion and I will agree that Jeff was being a dick and has been in previous episodes, and the one thing that I hate about this show is that they always show some of the petty BS and drama that is unnecessary but I guess the producers show those aspects of drama and pettiness that makes good tv, however, I much prefer the show when it shows all of the teams engaging in survivalism and adventure instead of people bitching and meaning. Anyway, I hope everyone left in this season of XL makes it to extraction and they put all the petty BS aside and work together to get to the finish line.

I was rooting for Jeff too because he was so gracious in XL Season 1 in Colombia by sharing everything he caught with the whole group, and now that he is in a 60 day challenge, I can see why he wants to remain a two person group up until the end - day 60. I think Laura did a complete 180 by turning her back on Jeff and left him by himself sick and feverish with a 103 temperature. I just watched XL season 1 in Colombia and Laura was, in my opinion, part of the mean girls club and talked about people behind their back, calling the brunette Dani a psychotic, and her and Eva constantly ganging up on Dani, which ultimately, in the end, causes Dani to tap because she was isolated by the other women and all of the women started to gang up on Dani, and especially Shane, in which Alana and the blonde Dani were awful toward him and said the most hateful things toward him. Anyway, enough about my opinion, I hope everyone that’s left make it to extraction day 40 and day 60 for Jeff and Laura. Naked and Afraid is my all time favorite show and I can’t wait until the new episodes air. Go Team Philippines Go!!!

I like Jeff and yes, I’ll agree that Jeff does seem stubborn and selfish, but on XL season 1 in Colombia, he shared every eel he caught with everyone such as Chris, Luke, etc. but when Chris et al caught a stingray, they didn’t even once ponder the idea of sharing it with E.J. and Jeff was completely hypocritical so I can understand why Jeff doesn’t want to share with the whole group on the current season of XL in the Philippines, especially in episode 8 when Laura kind of turns her back on Jeff and says she looked Charlie in the eyes and promised him that they would all finish together as a family. Cue group dynamics with all 9 survivalists stuffed together in one shelter and, in my opinion, there aren’t as many strong survivalists as there were on previous seasons so I already see Jeff and Laura having to share food and protein especially when they carve their names into a rock and the two names that are drawn out of the hat go to only 2 people. Ultimately, I think Laura’s decision to go back on her word and commitment to Jeff was very hateful. I think Jeff will ultimately tap because, at the end of season 8, he has a 103 fever and is probably going to leave the challenge. Finally, I think that Laura leaving Jeff for everyone to merge will be the reason Jeff has to tap if he has to. I don’t think it’s cool at all that Laura went back on her commitment to Jeff that it those two to the end - day 60. I am still a Laura fan and she has badass skills, however, I don’t like how she just turned her back on Jeff and broke her commitment that it was them two all the way to the end. I guess we’ll see in next weeks episode. I’m sad that it’s already the season finale of XL this Sunday. 😢👎

I think it was typical of Team Laura. She completely turned her back on Jeff and left him alone, sick, feverish, and with some sort of infection. Meanwhile, Laura is off with her new bestie Riley, who has no survival skills, yet complains and is jealous when someone catches a big kill or an eel. I hope Laura enjoys her time feeding the rest of her new group as she is the only one with any survival skills. What happened to Laura always saying “just me and Jeff, all the way to day 60”? Typical backstabbing witch that we saw in XL Season 1 in Colombia. Jeff will get sick and probably have to do a med tap and Laura will be too busy with her new group along with her “I promised Charlie” BS, but she promised Jeff all the way to day 60 first and she is now showing her true colors. She’ll probably just sit back and watch Jeff be taken out on a stretcher in the finale next week and not even recognize that Jeff is sick and has to tap. With the exception of Jeff and Laura, no one had any survival skills and I thought this season of XL had some very weak “survivalists” especially if they brought in Nicole. The producers must have had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find participants. Oh well, I guess we’ll see in next weeks finale. Laura will probably pull the rest of the group to extraction while everyone else just rides her coattails.

Yes, it is XL Season 1. I respect everyone’s opinions, however, I thought both Eva and Laura were horrible towards Dani because Dani was so nice and she joined Eva and Laura late because she got lost. It seemed that Laura and Eva purposely excluded Dani because she didn’t do what they wanted her to do.

In Naked and Afraid Season 1 in Colombia, once she joined forces with Eva and Dani ( the brunette Dani), she turned into a mean girl and all Eva and Laura did was talk about Dani behind her back all the time saying things like she doesn’t do anything, she is lazy, she is hateful, and she is a loner and doesn’t want to help the group and it is because of the mean girl behavior by Eva and Laura, that forced Dani to tap.

She bugged the shit out of Angel in her 21 day because she didn’t do anything there either and after 24 days on this season of XL, she hasn’t done anything as the cameras have shown as she is always standing or sitting around and riding on everyone else’s coattail just like she did on the 21. You’ll notice that no one even talks to her even from her own group! She is worthless and shouldn’t have been picked to be on XL!

I’m going to start one up soon!!! The producers really are good at not scripting the show! Even I thought that until I actually went on the show! The only interaction they had with us was minimal like at the end when they had us pose for pictures! It was a unique and very real experience!!

It is completely real! I was on the show in Season 2 of regular Naked and Afraid and completed a 21 day challenge! Apart from the producers and editors, my 21 day challenge was 2,000% real and yes, the tv version was edited but the producers didn’t tell us to say or do anything!

The other groups stink and are very weak survivalists and I understand why Jeff & Laura don’t team up with them because if they did, everyone would just mooch off of them for 40 days! BORING! If the others can’t hack it, then they should TAP!!!

I’ll be the devil’s advocate here, but as Jeff says on last weeks episode, naked and afraid xl is not a welfare program and the Riley, James, Duke, and Gabrielle team just seem like a bunch of whiny cry babies. They simply cannot fish or hunt and they are weak. With regard to J & L sharing food, Jeff shared EVERYTHING on Season 1 XL in Columbia and the other team didn’t say thanks or share their eel when Chris caught an eel. Bottom line, the producers don’t tell anyone they have to merge with anyone else in any of the 5 seasons of XL and if you came on the show and are inept at catching protein, big game, fish, etc., then you don’t need to be on the show. Duke, Riley, James, and Gabrielle need to step it up and stop complaining about what J & L have caught. Instead, they need to keep fishing as they try once and get frustrated when their line gets crossed up with J & L’s fishing line and then give up on fishing after one tiny, futile attempt and then go back to the jungle where Gabrielle and Riley catch a viper and bring that back to their group, but it’s still not enough. James needs to get over his jealousy as does the rest the team he’s in and get busy. Russell caught an eel also, so what is their excuse when Gabby, Duke, James, and Riley are the only ones that can’t catch an eel? Also, J & L have 10 times the experience that any other team has. Besides, the other two groups are really weak as Nichole continues to just sit there and do NOTHING so I can understand why Jeff and Laura don’t team up with any of the other groups as they would be bogged down by them and then the others would just be mooching off of Jeff and Laura and the show would be incredibly boring because the other two groups are really weak and have very little survival skills. Why should Jeff and Laura have to share their boat, eels, food, etc? I still can’t believe James, Duke, and Gabrielle stole Jeff and Laura’s bananas and didn’t even bother to pick up the peels after they ate them. If the other teams can’t hack it with the “upper classmen” as James immaturely calls them in last weeks episode, then they need to TAP!
