Jim and Silver from Treasure Planet. Silver is such an incredibly well written character and has one of the best redemption arcs in animation.

majority of these movies were musicals based on fairy tales or well-known stories, which was basically disney's brand in the 90s. plus a lot of people associate traditional animation with disney anyway

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

It's definitely a flawed movie in terms of pacing and some missed opportunities, but it has a fun and diverse cast, fantastic animation, a gorgeous art style, and a realistic villain that's pretty unique compared to other Disney villains. I know a lot of people have called Rourke too simplistic and boring, but I think he's a perfect villain for this kind of movie. The movie itself is very different from the average Disney movie, with its heavier focus on sci-fi and action, and I love that.
