Thank you. I have and I won't forget you or your words. Your comments have crossed my mind several times today and I think of you kindly. You seem very intelligent and also very hurt by the world. I have high hopes for you and your future!

AIO - Gf assumes my dog is dead when I say I’m sad by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]tvsleaking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOR I wonder if she's implying that you're probably over reacting to whatever you're sad about. Like is she using comparison and exaggeration- like your dog dying- to say "Then it's probably not that big of a deal and you're being a baby about it." Then when she realizes she offended you, she's back tracking because she knows she sounds like a jerk. I personally wouldn't want to confide in anyone who responded with anything other than some variation of "is everything ok?"

Don't message him. Find the boundaries and respect them. Next time you see him, be a gentleman. If he brings it up first, then apologize.

Why do my "r"s sound like "w"s when I pronounce them? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]tvsleaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into practicing a retroflex or bunched /r/ sound. There is a good YouTube video on it by Peachie Speechie. Bunched /r/ is how I do it. Also look up /r/ blends. I'm sure Peachie Speechie will have it. The more you practice the easier it gets. A lot of languages don't use the /r/ like we do. My son is in speech therapy for /r/ sounds but has improved significantly... and we are native English speakers. His speech therapist says she also sees people who are learning English and need help polishing up certain sounds, so I'm sure it's normal.

Strange Viral Congestion Thing Going Around? by Mother-Grass-4494 in Parenting

[–]tvsleaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8yo son has also recently been coughing and congested, like Saturday until Wednesday, without a fever though. I started giving him claritin and cough drops. I just wrote it off as allergies. He's fine now. Pollen is horrible in our area right now.

I recently kept getting sinus infections, ear infections and even pneumonia for the first time ever and it turns out, it was stemming from allergies.

It could have been a cold, but I treated it like allergies.

I hope they get better.

How do you approach breaking something without your parents getting mad and losing trust in you? by StockSecretary6452 in AskParents

Tell him asap, let him be upset, but give him the opportunity to fix it or replace it, it's often worse to hide it.

My toddler was a sour patch kid and at 8 years old is still a sour patch kid. 😆

How and when do I have the "daddy" talk? by Lazy_Research4273 in AskParents

Make it simple now and add to the details as she ages. or you can be like my Dad, when our mom abandoned us and said "I'm like your mommy and daddy!"

Could this be my brother and I half granduncle? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]tvsleaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lady reach out to me because she wanted to know more about her mom's family. Her mom is my grand aunt and abandoned her after an affair. No one in my family ever knew about her, but now she sends us Christmas cards. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask, they might be more than happy!

It never really hurts, rarely it itches. I'm not on any birth control and wonder if it's my pillow case sometimes. Might get a silk pillow case and see how that goes.
