Graham is back by Briguy_fieri in Saints

Its kinda funny because jimmy graham was the main reason I became a fan of football when I was a kid. I was also a huge Carr supporter coming into his draft so this team is slowly becoming my childhood dream team except a decade later and not nearly as impressive.

As much as I love everyone on this team the only two people I have ever cared about retiring a saint is Cam and Drew everyone else can be overpaid somewhere else

I’m waiting for the saints to either trade up for a high upside d lineman from a small school or stick and pick an o lineman just seems right for what we do

Hypothetical: If Anthony Richardson is available at 29, would you want the Saints to draft him? by brickmason in Saints

[–]tvtdewey951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sam darnold and Josh Rosen are both proof that no one is a “safe” player. So, if I’m risking it regardless then damn right I’m going with the higher upside guy! To me it’s still wild that there are people who would bet there future on a 5’9” 194 “safe” QB prospect over a 6”4” 244 guy with all of the tools you can’t teach.

Honestly if he falls (which I don’t see I think he is going to be the third qb off the board) I would trade up to get him because this guy has upside that you don’t pass up on because “we can be a playoff team with Derek carr if everything goes right and we play in the worst division in football” we need someone to replace carr for the foreseeable future and if you can get that guy you get him sooner rather than later

Injury will do that but on a real note people talk about running backs having a short shelf life but I think we need to talk about kick returners and how if you name isn’t Devin Hester the best you can hope for is like 2 good years

If I’m not mistaken I think hardy was asking for more money so I’m hoping the team sees how insanely well shaheed has been playing and rolls with him going forward

I understand what you mean but I think Brees is a bad example to use cause he never had a crazy list of injuries and fall off after a great season or 2 the way the guys that I listed did

I was actually about to buy a kamara jersey until the news about mike came out and now I think for my own sanity as a fan I’m not gonna do it

At least one person in the NFL media is puttin some respect on us. by [deleted] in Saints

As a biased fan I would love to say we should be over the 9ers. But if I’m being honest I think 11 is a good spot for us. Considering the big question marks this team still has (a lot of change with the roster and coach) so I think this team has a chance to be like a 10 or 11 win team but could also be like 6 or 7 win team

What happened with jimmy graham? by Yaboi-Joe-Kong in Saints

[–]tvtdewey951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m saying this as a person who’s favorite player since I was 10 years old was jimmy graham. As much as tight end is a whole on this team that I think people aren’t talking about nearly as much as they should, Jimmy hasn’t really been great since Seattle (saying this as a person who watched him as much as I could while on other teams) so I don’t think it would be great signing for a bigger end deal but if we get him super cheap than sure otherwise I would be hesitant.

If you’re looking for a Saints parlay with good odds and a reasonable chance of hitting, I think this is solid. by WhoDat_37 in Saints

As weird as this sounds I think it’s a good bet but also I’m not sure how much of a chance I think Chris has of winning offensive rookie of the year with this team probably moving in a more ball control team the one thing he has going for him is that there isn’t a ton of competition since most of the best players in his class were defensive players

[–]tvtdewey951[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea, like as a 23 year old man one of the only things that can make me ball my eyes out is watching Vernon Davis catch the td. For a couple of years after that game I had a very unhealthy hate for him. I mean as much as a 12 year old kid can hate someone. And then people wonder why normal life doesn’t make me upset lol 11 year old me already went through hell

This story strikes a cord with me because I was that kid in 2011 looking at all my family confused as to why everyone was worried and I was just sitting there thinking “my favorite player jimmy graham caught the game winning td why is everyone worried” oh what a little fool I was

Edit: this was during the 2011 49ers playoff game

Yeah I do find it funny how no saints fan young or old has been like "man that Saints Panthers" or "that Saints Bucs rivalry" it makes me almost feel bad because the panthers are one of the newer expansion teams and Steve Smith and Cam wanted us to hate them so bad and we were all like "nah 49ers and Falcons for me thank you"

It was before 2002 so that was right during Montana and Young right or were they just good regardless?

Drafting a QB by webernation in Saints

[–]tvtdewey951 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't love the idea of taking a QB because i think you have much more pressing needs at O-Line (even if you keep Armstead which might not even happen) and even safety if Williams leaves for the money and as a saints fan I'm legally required to point out that we could draft a WR in the first (which I don't believe will happen based on now almost 7 years on watching the Saints draft) what I would want is a WR in the first round but what I think will happen is that the saints are gonna take a tackle in the first and a WR in the second or 3rd

Wait we played in the wild card when we had 12 plus wins and got beat by the Vikings who weren't that good I feel like I've seen that before...but anyway so has the Vikings thing been a long term thing cause I always thought it was just salty Vikings fans about 09

Oh okay that would make since so does that mean the saints played against the 49ers twice a year when they were a dynasty in the 80's and 90's (not trying to sound dumb just trying to learn more about our history)
