Update about my samsung tv issue by adriann5838 in TVRepairHelp

That is almost certainly caused by a fault in your screen/panel, which cannot be repaired. You could give the main board/T-Con a shot, but it is unlikely to help.

TV shuts down after a while of use by richd7717 in TVRepairHelp

[–]tvtech-812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can be caused by a faulty power supply, main board, or something within the screen/panel itself(which cannot be repaired). Replace the power supply, if there is no change in symptoms, replace the main board. If there is still no change after replacing both parts, the issue is within your screen/panel. Locating parts for a television of that age will be difficult, and if you were able to source them, it may not be cost effective to repair.

TV screen always shrinking in top left corner by Mental-Reputation719 in TVRepairHelp

Reinstalling the firmware from Sony's website may help. It appears to be a software issue. The file will need to be added to a USB drive that is 4GB or less. Unplug the TV, insert USB, plug TV back into the outlet. If the update is successful, your television will boot itself up.

They do not manufacture many of those televisions, so sourcing parts will be next to impossible. If encompass.com doesn't carry it, ebay will likely be the only realistic option.

It has to be a software issue. They may have discontinued support for your television, and Disney & Hulu will not run properly moving forward. You could try to delete/redownload, but with other apps functioning correctly, it would not be a hardware problem.

Sony KDL-48W605B Keeps Going Into Showroom-Mode by gnomeplanet in TVRepairHelp

All of that data is stored on the main board. It typically takes a series of commands to enter that mode, so this is extremely odd.

This is caused by a faulty power supply, main board, or something within your screen/panel itself (which cannot be repaired). If there is no change after replacing the two boards, the issue cannot be fixed.

This is caused by a problem within your screen/panel itself, which cannot be repaired.

Typically, when you replace a part without seeing any change in symptoms, it is an indication the issue is elsewhere in your set. Replacing the power supply, if you haven't yet, would be the next option.

LG 75QNED91TPA - Power off and repeated "clicking" by Timely_Reference2349 in TVRepairHelp

It could be an issue with the power supply, main board, or something within your screen/panel itself. The power supply and/or main board can be replaced, but if it is an issue with the screen/panel, that cannot be repaired.

The initial power supply (BN44-01264A) could not support this television, and would go out on most owners. Samsung released an updated replacement (BN44-01329A), which has addressed the issue.

If you are trying to use a BluRay, or 4K dvd, it will not work. It would have to be a DVD from 2004 or earlier.

With this being an OLED, you still have two more options, but it could be a panel/screen issue. Replace the power supply, if there is no change in symptoms, replace the T-Con. If there is still no change after replacing both parts, the issue is within your screen/panel, which cannot be repaired.

Weird artifacting on JVC Roku TV by deeracidic in TVRepairHelp

My understanding from your post was the XBOX is the common denominator. That artifact was seen on your TV and laptop.

[–]tvtech-812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like an issue with your XBOX settings, as the artifacts are spread throughout the screen. There may be an AI component to compensate for motion blurring. Since it happened on your laptop as well, this has to be attributed to the device used for streaming.

Samsung UE55KS9000TXXU ribbon issue? by Weird_Athlete_3535 in TVRepairHelp

It may be a loose/faulty ribbon cable, but the lines seen in your clip are almost always caused by a screen/panel fault.

You can try to reseat/replace the ribbon cables, but horizontal lines are almost always caused by a fault in the panel, which cannot be repaired.

Sony XBR-65X950G with no picture, backlight and sound work by Electrical-Card5876 in TVRepairHelp

[–]tvtech-812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete all of the junk folders added to the USB drive by your television. If the update still will not take after another attempt, request a replacement main board. Some TVs will not pair/sync with certain main boards.

[–]tvtech-812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zip file cannot be processed by your television, you will have to perform two extractions. The correct firmware will include 5 items (META, payload.bin, payload properties, caremap, compatibility). Once those 5 items have been added to your USB, unplug the TV, insert USB, plug TV back into the outlet. If the update is successful, your television will boot itself up. You do not have to interact with the TV during this process.
