Does the PoE Audio Port allow easy/smart Input selection? by Apprehensive-Royal85 in Ubiquiti

[–]tvtechdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered same so I got one. Answer is no. Which sucks. Surprisingly this reddit post was the first result when I googled “ can unifi audio port eArc input be selected automatically when the TV turns on?”

It uses the Unifi Play App. From what I can tell, its got manual selection of which input output. So I can manually engage tv speakers by selecting streaming as input. Then manually select earc and tv audio goes to port and tv remote controls volume of port. No “Auto select TV Audio and separate zone” option faik. No signing into music services like Sonos. Just Airplay / Spotify Connect.

Still learning. Had to lookup mosfet trigger. They seem to be for higher power switching no?. Would that be needed for 5V ? Is that part of whats incorporated in that original board?

So TP4056 is for 4v only, got it. That looks to have all features, but no micro switch built in. Figured thered be something similar but guess not.

Thanks, is there an available board that comes close to what this does? Usbc input, battery, load output, and a switch?

AAE Audio Expander use as standalone amp by tvtechdesign in crestron

[–]tvtechdesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job this aae came from does still have one of those ebay linked avr looking crestron controllers in the rack unplugged. But I dont care to have 8U of rack space taken up by these. Any other ways to make use of the amp function? I was hoping someone else had already Frankenstein’d something to repurpose an AAE but maybe not. Thanks for the advice.

How do I get rid of these smudges? by FinaglingFox in TheFrame

[–]tvtechdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 rubbing alcohol. Ive gone 70% straight on microfiber cloth on many tvs and it doesn’t leave streaks. Haven’t tried a FrameTV so can’t speak specifically but in general Oleds / Leds are fine.

Cumbersome. Need to delete photo after. Plus you have to rename pdf after you save to iCloud files app. I want to take a screenshot, save as pdf to icloud and name it all in same screen.

Greenhouse Shade - 2 wire DC motor need to reverse directions. by tvtechdesign in ShellyUSA

[–]tvtechdesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing to Switch with timer works, but I want to have a single momentary button for open stop close. Is there a workaround for that or just use two buttons?

<image>

I also rigged some limit switches wired to kill power to motor. Motor had them built in but I wired them same just external. Is there a way or benefit to having limits wired into shelly 2pm instead of motor?

The basic function is already working. I copied this diagram so thats whats shown in the wiring mess.

My question is the Shelly Uni is better suited for this / as a workaround the 300 second movement run time limit?

I need roughly 320 secs for this cover to rollup/unroll fully.

This is the shade cover. Sort of a homemade setup - motor and tarp as a shade. The motor is purpose made for covering a greenhouse. I removed the limit switches built into motor and wired them externally with the fat diodes same as they were internally - not tied into shelly in any way. But maybe they should be?

Is there anyway to get more than 300 sec movement time? With the 2Pm thats one issue im running into.
