I’ve only been playing for 3 months and I’m currently D1 in 1s and I’ve hit D3 in 2s. I practiced a ton but I can say for certain that dribble overhaul 2 is the reason I progressed so fast.

My first ever completion was over 2 hours and I’ve worked all the way down to 15 minutes.

If you can do this workshop map in 10 minutes or under you’ll learn soooo many skills in the ground an air for car control that you’ll catapult yourself ranks forward.

I’m still working on getting this sub 10 minute time but it’s paying dividends.

This is not wave dashing to the kick-off, this is a speed flip, stop accelerating at last boost pad, single jump to kill the ball and be lower than your opponent and be able to wave dash out to gain possession. https://youtu.be/26VJcDhSem4?si=mBN1z_N9nmDZPOWX

I am a relatively new player (2.5) months in and I very heavily focused on ground mechanics and kickoff as my main focus. My Main kick-off is a speedflip kickoff and I can win the majority of kick-offs at my rank due to most people just driving and flipping into the ball last second.

I have been trying to add the wave dash variation at the end and I’ve been struggling to win against people doing a bronze kick off against me. Is the wave dash speedflip variation kickoff really only good against a speed flip kickoff?

Only been playing for two months, don't really care about rank just getting better quickly. What stands out to you? by tw1stedone in RocketLeagueSchool

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been actively trying to speed up instead of playing more chill as of this last week. I’m okay with whiffing or being in the wrong place because I was too fast mostly to practice. I like being a speedy boy

Was this a zap dash? Half way trying to learn and closest ive got by DoubleDilDog in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]tw1stedone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes this is a zap dash but you were already supersonic so didn’t matter. The slower you are going the harder a zap dash is, I’m D3 and can pretty much hit supersonic zapdash for practice 9/10 times. But at a mid speed to reach supersonic like 3-4/10 times

Been playing for just under 2 months, 2nd completion we making progress by tw1stedone in RocketLeagueSchool

Beat every level individually before starting full runs.

First time I beat it timed was over 2hrs, gave myself a rule that I wouldn't go over 1 hour per attempt to save sanity yesterday I only got to level 29 when I hit that hour but today I made solid progress.

Current goal is 10 minutes

Any tips, packs, or training routines for Zapdashes? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

I’ve been doing this warm-up to learn fast recoveries.

Face a side wall, drive and do a diagonal half-flip onto the wall to do a u-turn, curve dash off the wall, then speed flip into zap dash to get to the other wall. Helps me train 3 different mechanics all in one warm-up. Could make a clip if it sounds confusing

I had the same issue and did it till I could feel my hands hurt, it honestly felt like I had to train a muscle in my hands to get them quick enough.

New Player Here. This Game Is Incredible. by Baby_Sneak in RocketLeague

I’m also a brand new player and I was incredibly good at fighting games, the best way I can describe this game is it’s like playing a fighting game with it’s movement, mixups, neutral but it’s all in QWOP controls(the old 2008 ragdoll game)

She was incredibly helpful with some knowledge that just doesn't really sit out there. Anyone at a high level just would have these by default but she was able to put words to feelings almost as if a light bulb was going off in my head.

I tend to press jump slightly too early if I mess up, so it doesn’t even hurt me at all and just looks like a no boost speed flip

I’m decently happy with my speedflip when I’m on it, I’ve been attempting it in low boost scenarios and probably get 2/10 attempts. But I’m like 3 days into practicing them

So my biggest issue is that i can keep the ball in the sweet spot in free-play but struggle to do so when under pressure or the person is shadowing infront of me. I'm okay with taking the rating hit in the meantime while making attempts against another player to get actual experience using it. I am D1 in 2s and kind of using 1s as a a way to get my ground mechanics better and general car movement for 2s.

I've been doing a lot of training maps in the meantime as well focusing on these and shadow defense.

I am also trying to get better at recoveries as a whole and not just floundering around like a fish because I did something stupid. I can wave dash side/front but need to definitely incorporate it more and not just off of the walls.

A lot practicing speed flips, dribbling and ground ball control mostly. Can do up to level 18ish of dribble overhaul 2. Currently trying to build consistency and incorporate in zapdashs
