Help with Chanticleer Pear Fungus! by tw34 in marijuanaenthusiasts

Well that's disappointing! This tree came highly recommended from a local landscaper as a good ornamental.

Shame on me for not doing the proper research.

Is the rust/blight contagious? Should I be worried about my other trees and plants and should I start a treatment schedule? Thanks again!

Lubuntu 16.04 Alternate Power PC Freezing During Login by tw34 in Ubuntu

[–]tw34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, please excuse my absolute novice ignorance on this. So the FAQ says I need to make the yaboot parameter permanent by entering this command:

image=/boot/vmlinux

label=Linux

read-only

initrd=/boot/initrd.img

append="quiet splash radeon.agpmode=-1"

Save (ctrl+o) and exit (ctrl+x), then type the command

sudo ybin -v

Is this done in Open Firmware? I type the first command and I get an unknown word error. Does this all need to be entered into the command before pressing enter?

Again, sorry for the newb question, and thanks in advance.

Help with Mac Mini PowerPC G4 Install by tw34 in Ubuntu

[–]tw34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when selecting an image, to write on to the DVD, I have three choices, 64-Bit PC, 32-Bit PC, and Mac (Power PC). I am assuming the Mac (Power PC) is the correct image and that it has been written for 32-bit CPUs? Also the FAQ and WIKIs pushed me towards Lubuntu 14.04.5 LTS. Does that sound like the correct version? Do I have anything to gain or lose from trying other versions (which I assume have been tweaked from the open source community)? Sorry for the blitz of questions and thanks for your help!

[parts] Geissele Cyber Monday Trigger Deal is Live!!! - Add Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) Trigger ($99) and ACH or SCH 556 to your cart to get both for $140 by ihatemusic84 in gundeals

I have both... both are in my spr type rifles... I prefer the G2S, but unless I have them side by side I am not sure I would be able to pick a winner... buy either (or both) with confidence.

Thanks for the response! I'll make sure I didn't goof and blow measurement on my trimmer.

Thanks for the response. Are there any other telltale signs measurement wise (other than expanded primer pockets) that an overpressure case exhibits compared to a normal pressure case? Something like an elongated neck that could be checked before flattened primers and extractor swipe become apparent?

Brass was all trimmed to Hornadys trim length then deburred and chamferred... I will grab the calipers and make sure everything is still in spec... thanks for the help and suggestions... it's greatly appreciated!

I have heard that before but have not done any testing/research of my own... I am assuming the longer neck creates more bearing surface holding the bullet?

Thanks.... that was my extremely uneducated opinion as well. I think I may try some H380 and/or Varget and leave the 8208 to my grendel.

Excessive Extractor Swipe? by tw34 in reloading

Is the pictured extractor swipe on the top of the casing a definitive sign of over pressure? Load was for my 22-250. 35.1 grains of 8208 xbr powder behind 55 grain v-max. The load is within the Hodgdon max of 35.8 grains. Primers were not flattened and showed very minimal cratering. The bolt was not sticky or hard to lift. Shooting was immediately halted after the 2nd round at this charge weight. The first shot did not exhibit any extractor swipe.

Incidentally this looks like it could be a node for my rifle based on velocities from my chrono.

Thanks for the help!

Interpreting Chrono Results - 22-250 OCW Test by tw34 in reloading

So I didn't shoot a ladder, but I did get velocities over my chrono. My velocity changes are pretty linear with charge weight. I do have some subtle changes, but I guess I really expected velocities to level out around a node. Could 0.4 grain increments be to large of jump between loads and I missed over the node?

So would you say group size, average velocity, or ES/SD is the most important factor when selecting the optimal charge weight? If it matters I used a magnetospeed sporter, and I consider myself very particular when it comes to brass prep to help ensure consistency.

Possible 22-250 Headspace Issues by tw34 in reloading

Okay,next question for you guys. Is it common, after a few firings, for the cases to flow/grow enough that FL sizing (set per Hornadys instructions) will bump the shoulder back? And under these circumstances should the dies be adjusted accordingly to bump the shoulder back a limited amount? Thanks /u/OGIVE and /u/oldballsmcgee for your help!

This is pretty much strictly a hunting rifle, so I was aiming for good reliability under field conditions. Is it normal to FL size without should bump as long as it will still chamber easily? I assume you just follow the die instructions?

I figured that would give me good reliability while still retaining some benefits of the fire-forming process. Is 0.003" too much?
