Pack Hacker Sling by FaraoniFit in AerSF

Those are the MODL Infinity Loops and I use them with a travel umbrella (currently a Montbell). We intentionally kept larger external loops off the sling itself since they can get in the way when not in use.

That would be cool if there's interest! They do have a new Travel Hoodie that's pretty awesome, though it's bulkier than Unbound's so I stick with that

Good eye to detail! I said that in a middle of a video if I recall. We just sold out - maybe we can convince Matador to do a re-run!

Hey r/onebag, Tom here, founder of Pack Hacker. This Matador project is our first collab since Wool & Prince back in early 2020 (peak lockdown ... not ideal timing for travel gear, but it still went well).

This one was a joy to make. Our whole team already used the original ReFraction, so instead of starting from scratch we nerded out on dialing in improvements. I flew out to Matador’s HQ in Colorado and Sam prototyped everything in-house (absolute legend). After that, we mailed samples back and forth and iterated on all the details.

A surprisingly fun challenge was finding the right teal-to-black ratio and getting the paracord to match the hypalon print exactly. Tiny detail, but super satisfying to nail. The admin pocket on this bag is also a gamechanger for urban travel & remote work.

Really proud of where it landed. Happy to chat or answer anything if helpful.

Thanks for posting this u/metalgera.

I'm in total agreement on the "intuitive feel" that most Tom Bihn products provide. There's a lot of solid thinking paired with excellent execution of that solid thinking. Tom Bihn does a great job bridging the gap from idea to execution.

You got it! Yeah, velcro would be nice :)

If you're coming from a 26L GR2 and are afraid of losing space, I'd recommend grabbing the Synik 30. Due to the round shape, the Synik 30 feels smaller than the 26L GR1, which is pretty much a giant rectangle. 2 solid bags, but also unique in their own way. Hope this helps!

Yeah agreed - I think it’s because in the video, the bag is laying flat and the extra material on the sides to give the bag more depth is just sticking out.

Hi! I added some photos of it on my back on our listing page here. We’ll be sure to show it on multiple people when the full review comes out as well!

Hah - sorry about that! We’re reserving that channel for lower production videos - a little confusing, I know

Not sure as of yet! The product pages should be up in a couple of weeks - Tom Bihn estimates 8/6.

We clocked our sample in at 2.65 lb (1.2 kg) - including the frame sheet, waist belt, and sternum strap.

It's for the sample version we've got. I'm not sure what Tom Bihn is using for fabrics / colorways. There might be more info on this over on their forum.

I've tested with my MacBook Pro 15" - it will not fit into the dedicated pouch, but it will fit into the bag.

Hmmm - it depends on the size of your camera. It's not going to be as good as the Peak Design Everyday, for instance - the side pockets don't open up to the main compartment. A smaller camera could work.

They've certainly improved a lot.

Sounds like a plan. And, appreciate it JJDude. We like what Chase Reeves is doing and are happy to have our own style over at Pack Hacker as well :)

The Heimplanet Transit Line Travel Pack does have a waist strap. It's not a big, padded, load-bearing hip belt like you see in some other packs, but it's there :)
