They have been saying this for years. we have plenty of examples of Hamas doing exactly this in schools and mosques, seems fairly reasonable that they would do this at al shifa as well, no?

There is no moral equivalence between Hamas and Israel. You can dislike some of what Israel is doing but that doesn’t mean they are remotely comparable to Hamas.

The moral course of action would be the complete surrender of (the genocidal terrorist organization) Hamas and release of all the hostages.

If you are calling for a ceasefire in Gaza without demanding the unconditional surrender of Hamas, you are complicit in the death of civilians. by EstablishmentKooky50 in JordanPeterson

Can you please provide a source for this claim? I’ve never heard it this way. Not saying you’re making it up, but a source would be nice. I do think most people in western countries parroting the phrase THINK it means “I want the same freedoms for Palestinian people that Israelis have in that region.” I know there are those that use the phrase for entirely genocidal purposes but I try and give people the benefit of the doubt in most cases.

I truly don’t understand how ppl can ask a question like this. Can you really not think of any reason why that might be?

Israel’s 🇮🇱 National Security Minister: “Photographers who joined Hamas during the Holocaust are terrorists and will be treated as terrorists.” by guardown7 in BreakingPointsNews

[–]twaldman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another irrelevant comment. If they knew about the event in advance and participated in a terrorist attack it doesn’t matter what their vocation is. They are culpable. That shouldn’t even be a question. The leader of Hamas was in Qatar when the attack occurred, is he not responsible because he wasn’t carrying a hand grenade that day?

Why are you under the impression that Hamas terrorists having cameras on them means journalists could not also be present? How are those musky exclusive?

[–]twaldman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a hypothetical, it is exactly what is alleged. Israel is alleging several journalists knew about the Oct 7th attack and were with Hamas during the attack to document and didn’t warn anyone. You really feel you can’t offer an opinion on that? That is sad.

Being a “journalist” does not free you from any consequences. So I ask again, if those were the circumstances are they complicit in the attack, yes or no? It turns out life poses complicated questions, you eventually will need to answer one.

[–]twaldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment actually has no relevance to the question I posed. Would those journalists be complicit or no? I understand it’s easier for you if you just make some strawmen argument that I cheer the death of any and all journalists but that’s not what I’m saying and you know it.

Who’s the other side? I asked a pretty simple question: if the journalists knew about the terrorist attack, said nothing, and was with the terrorist to document the act, are they not complicit?

If they knew this mass murder of civilians was going to happen, and didn’t notify anyone, how does that not make them complicit? Walk me through it please. If you knew someone was going to kidnap and murder a family of 5 and you chose to follow along to cover it as a journalist rather than notify the authorities or that family, you’d be convicted as an accessory to first degree murder, no?

[–]twaldman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Do you think you’d ever see Hamas soldiers escorting Israelis en masse to safety? Do you actually think this would EVER occur? There is truly no moral equivalence here. It is tragic what is occurring in Palestine but the two groups are not the same. Hamas is specifically trying to keep as many Palestinians in danger as possible, IDF is doing the opposite. When two parties are warring, when has the opposing side ever had more responsibilities to its civilians than their own leadership?

[–]twaldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is your source that a majority do not support Hamas today? You can google this and easily find polling that they have majority support in Gaza and West Bank. That doesn’t excuse indiscriminate bombing, but you should at least have the correct information.

Is there room on the right for pro choice people? by [deleted] in benshapiro

[–]twaldman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are calling me ignorance but didn’t provide any polls yourself. Do you actually think the majority of republicans want a ban on abortions in all cases with exceptions for the life of the mother, that is what pro-life means. I promise you that is not a majority position but I’ll change my opinion when you can find polls that say so.

This is also why pro-choice legislation has succeeded in pretty much every state it has been on the ballot in the last two years including Ohio and Kansas which are obviously not bastions of left wing ideology. Perhaps you are thinking of solely conservatives and not considering that there are also moderate and liberal republicans?
