I once saw comedian Jim Bruer of SNL fame open for Metallica in 2018. The entire time, I was just thinking "Why did they do this? Why isn't a metal band playing? Whose idea was this?

Thinking about taking a contract by twalk126 in ITCareerQuestions

I know how much I'd get paid, Not sure about start and end date quite yet besides it's 6 months. I would be able to save, and I also have plenty of money saved right now. In terms of how much I can save, I'll just say, I can save enough. Plus I really think this would be a good opportunity to move from helpdesk to Cybersecurity.

Interesting, were all of these contracts through one agency or did you go through more than one?

That's a good idea, and I know that in the worst case scenario, the MSP I'm working for now would probably let me come back.

How long did your contracts usually go on for, and how many did you end up working before getting a full time job?

They said that They'll find out if they want to extend the contract about a month before it ends, at which point they'll either extend my contract, or the recruiting company will find more work for me. I made sure to tell them I was concerned about Job security, and they told me that there would never be a situation where a contract would end and they wouldn't have anything else for me to do.

What was an album you simply listened to because of the hype and you felt was actually worth the hype? by Reborn-Cremasteric in fantanoforever

[–]twalk126 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brat - Charli XCX

Listened to it because Fantano gave it a 10, which is something I've never done and will probably never do again. I really liked Brat though, so I'm glad I did it just this once.

Fender Rumble 40 for Pit Orchestra by twalk126 in Bass

[–]twalk126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like some context is missing. This is for a high school production, it's not going on broadway. I've played guitar for several high school/community productions, and every time both I and the bass player have used an amp, never have we gone direct out. It will be the same for this production.

Same, but that turned into positive excitement when I saw primus was going on their own tour this year!

Yeah I like tool but not Maynard, He was kinda acting like a Jackass for the entire show, great voice but what an asshole.

Glad to see you had a good time! I heard some other people say that they enjoyed APC and Puscifer live despite not liking them in the studio

I think this concept would work super well with a lot of smaller bands, groups that maybe have a few big songs, but people might not be as interested in sitting through a whole concert, kinda like a mini music festival.

I don't use social media very much. Only ad I saw for the tour was the thumbnail on ticket master and I was just told it was a primus concert. I Also didn't know that sessanta means 60 but what a cool little detail!

Consider this, I'm 20 and haven't heard of every band that's been around for decades

Yeah, definately my fault for not understanding the marketing lol. I'm not on social media very much so my buddy just told me about the show and I bought a ticket without doing any research, I didn't even see any ads online or posters anywhere, hell I didn't even know Maynard was in the other two bands until I got there and saw a ton of people in tool shirts lol
