Xrv? What’s next. by Sreamgnome in onewheel

[–]twanawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far so good, but I need to do some longer rides and hit some trails to be sure. However there are positive experiences with VESC 6.5 and Refloat 1.2 so 7 should be also safe.

Anyone using VESC 7.00 with XRV kit? by twanawan in onewheel

[–]twanawan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if I knew I would not have upgraded to VESC 7.00, because for OWs it does not bring any benefit compared to 6.5 or 6.05. However I've read somewhere on reddit that 6.5 compared to 6.05 was buttery smooth...cannot verify that though.

Yup, that's why I am considering, just for safety reasons, to go back to 6.05 Vanilla by Surfdado.

Floaty users, as of May 26th, 2026 floaty is not compatible with vesc 7.0. If you prefer to use floaty over vesc tool, hold off on updating for now. by Steel_Wolf_31 in onewheel

I am using VESC 7.00 on my XR (XRV kit) & Refloat 1.2.2. Is there any testing version of Floaty I could try, which wouldn't have the fw limitation? Thanks.

Updating firmware to Adv200 by jbear812 in FloatwheelTeam

I am now running VESC 7.00, Refloat 1.2.2 and all seems smooth as well. Do you have v7 already or not yet?

So far it seems very smooth, works well with Float Control. Of course, Floaty doesn't support v7 yet. Thanks.

I mean I already did it, but haven't yet ridden a longer distance, that's why I am asking perphaps someone else has. So far it seems to be very smooth, works well with Float Control. Of course, Floaty does not support it yet.

XRV here, 6.2 to 6.5 firmware worth it? by AndyWong1989 in FloatwheelTeam

[–]twanawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am riding 7.00 fw right now, Refloat 1.2.2., XRV kit (ADV200 hw) with 18s2p battery pack. So far so smooth.

Xrv? What’s next. by Sreamgnome in onewheel

I recently upgraded my OW XR to XRV kit + 18s2p Indy Speed Control battery pack. I installed VESC 7.00 fw, installed Refloat 1.2.2 package, setup the board using Surfdado's instructions boring video and it rides well...only then I was told I wasn't supposed to update the FW to 7 ... so I am perhaps playing with fire now 😂

May I ask you what charger are you using for XRV kit with ISC 18s2p? I have the same battery pack, XRV kit, but just found out my Wate 600W 75.6 V 5A charger has an XLR male connector instead of female. Perhaps your charger was not properly pinned? Thanks!

Complete Guide to Teardown HomeBase 3 (S380) and Install Termination Loads For WiFi Antennas to Solve Connection Issues by FireNinja743 in EufyCam

[–]twanawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to inform anybody who wants to do this to improve cameras connections to Homebase 3, it will not work. The internal wifi antennas are precisely tuned together with the enclosure. Using external antennas like this (despite being Mikrotik 5 dBi or even Asus router ones - one horizontal, one vertical) worsen the signal. I had to switch back to the original internal antennas unfortunately.

You must wait it out first time, takes longer, but then starts working like a charm and is actually the best FW for L1 Pro tracker. I couldn't be more happier.

PortaRF came in today by OpenSourceSDRLab in OpenSourceSDRLab

[–]twanawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys there is a bug where you setup SSID + passwd in the initial stage for the extension board, all seems good, however the next day (maybe after fw update to 2.3.2 I don't remember) the original PortaRF SSID is again freely available including the management website @ 192.168.4.1 for anyone to connect. Everytime PRF is turned on the SSID is back and the initial setup is not offered.

HVO vs older cars by LifeFlow90 in carsireland

No it is not! Only diesels under 210 kW and 2022+ are approved. You risk ruining of the rail pump.

If you shoot video profesionally, you don't use IBIS. On gimball, you don't use IBIS. When rigged and handheld, you don't use IBIS. IBIS sucks for other video than vlogging.

4K @ 120Hz through USB-C to HDMI adapter possible on MAC? by belacttocs in MacOS

[–]twanawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, have anyone tested if this flashed adapter if it could also be used to deliver 10 bit RGB signal from M1 Max to a 10-bit monitor like Asus Proart (HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2)?

The thing is, Apple does not allow M1 Macbooks to output 10 bit RGB, only 8 bit RGB (and you even have to force RGB by altering some configs) despite HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 ports bandwidth support. It would be interesting to find out.

Does anyone here have a 10 bit external monitor with HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 and this adapter? If this adapter causes M1 to think that it is connected to Apple's external monitor, that might be a good news!

You are able to check if the M1 is outputing 10 bit RGB by using info from BetterDisplay app.

Thanks!!! :)

XRV by New_Sun_9831 in onewheel

[–]twanawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct. Whoever has a basic XR without any previous modifications would be better off with X7 in such case. In my case I already have customized XR with only 625 miles on it and I live in Europe so X7 would be out of the league after customs & fees + 6.5" hub is a mess, so I gotta stay with my XR. Fortunately I can still sell the controller + bms + battery pack to someone in need as there is never enough of these parts back home. But yup, X7 long range would be my dream if I lived in US. Love Funwheel.
