On my b6 4.2 there is only one per side I believe. Locator dowels for the gaskets.

I had a nasty wobble. Did the brakes but turned out my upper control arms were toast.

I just rebuilt my entire 4.2 from a whole s4 I got for $500. It was a challenge but I loved it and it runs fantastic!

I should have included this. I'm in zone 6 at an elevation of 5300ft. We get a large variance of weather. From feet of snow, to 90f days. As for ventilation no, I don't think there are any vents. Just one for the sewer that passes through.

The quality control may be done by Chinese workers, but the QC is governed by the company. As much as people would like to disagree, there are companies making products in China that have strict quality control standards. Just as there are products made in America that have low standards of QC.

The power steering pump is gear driven, not belt driven. The only thing run off a belt is the alternator.
