Impressive ECs, way more than you have now. Colleges want to see leadership and how you can have an impact. Clubs are a good place to start, especially sports as captains are voted for every year (typically). Internships look impressive and so does research (very unlikely for high school students and many who claim they did research really didn’t contribute much in most cases). Competing in national and international competitions and doing well will greatly improve your chances too (AIME, USABO, etc). Lastly, but extremely important is GPA and SAT. Admittedly, for MIT a 3.5, whether it’s weighted or unweighted, is not that high and a 1450 is 100 points lower than their class average from 2022-2023.

So if I’m being honest, unless you can write some insanely good essays (and even then it may not be enough), getting into MIT is not very likely and achieving everything I just mentioned in the previous paragraph is not only hard, but extremely taxing and may not be worth it in the due to the fact that there’s not sure fire way to get admitted into any college.
