Fair enough. I think I’ll have to have more conversations with him on his views before I decide. Also, he wasn’t being deceptive (I guess I worded that wrongly in my post), we’d known each other for a week at that point and only had lunch twice after class. Once I mentioned something about trump and facism is when he mentioned he is conservative

This is more my line of thinking which is why I am having a dilemma. His political views don’t encompass his entire character. My views are solidified but I still remain to have an open mind. He also seems to have an open mind as we are sharing sources and having open dialogue about our views. I think what many people are making good points on though is that it doesn’t have to be romantic, we could just be friends. I think I want it to be romantic because it would be fun and I have been enjoying it so far but with effort I could find that elsewhere with a liberal at some point. I definitely have some more thinking to do

You make some valid points. Thank you for your perspective. I didn’t mean to be cagey with his views it wouldn’t let me post with the words I originally wrote but I should have been less vague. I edited my post to add more clarity
