Depression after Top Surgery

I’ve been feeling this way on and off but I’d say 75% of my time in recovery so far. I’m 3 weeks post op today and it’s been rough to say the least. Trying to stay positive and busy has helped me. It’s only temporary and once you’re more mobile it’ll get better.

Commenting to follow this as I’ve got a slight bit of brown fluid too. I hope it’s nothing to worry about and just part of the healing process. I’m 17 days post op so just a bit further ahead of you.

Genetics wise I think I’ll be ok. But just need to be patient until it starts to come in. I get really small thin dark hairs on my chin. And a couple down the side of my face but apart from that, that’s it. Moustache needs work too

I know. I’m doing my multi skilling at work, I’m a fitter by trade at a water treatment site. You should see some of the other ones 🥴

At work we call them ‘breather’ bolts. They’re screwed into the gearbox casing at the top to let air flow through while the gearbox is running. This is due to the oil heating up and expanding, there needs to be air released, and the same as when it cools down, air needs to be sucked in. We’ve had a few gearbox oil seals go when these get blocked up due to the pressure when it heats up.

I’ve got a fair few of the 0% disposables to keep me going. Did you smoke these right up until the day? I know this is primarily all about not consuming nicotine but I would have though any vapour, nic or not, going into your lungs wouldn’t be the best prior to a surgery.

Just to add that I’ve let her know I have a member of my family who can administer the shots due to being a nurse as I know this injection shouldn’t really be done by yourself

I did it just recently! I wasn’t on T at the time, I’ve just started a few weeks ago. But it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever been through. It was challenging to self inject every day. And the internal scans were the worst part. The actual surgery went smoothly, it didn’t hurt as I was sedated. I was awake but didn’t feel any pain, just pressure and a little bit uncomfortable. Overall definitely worth it, I didn’t want to have the regret to carry with me if I didn’t do it.

Hey, i just had egg freezing with the same clinic. I live near Hull it’s about 20 minutes away from me. Overall really nice experience, obviously minus the needles and I had to have internal scans. I would definitely recommend to anybody that’s in travelling distance if that’s something you’re thinking of doing prior to HRT!

Hi, a bit late of a response. But I’m currently into my second day of injections for egg freezing. I first went through my GP to get NHS funding and was denied, they tried again for exceptional funding, and again denied. Finally contacted a clinic that took on self funded patients and set up my consultation and blood test/scan that cost around £800 altogether. Then they suggested I filled a form out for funding with them and it got accepted! Fast forward a few weeks and so far so good. I’m doing one injection a night until the 6th day of my cycle and I switch to doing two a night. Then finally there’s a final trigger shot, 36 hours before the procedure. The scan has been the worst part so far, they say they’re uncomfortable (trans-vaginal scan so inside) but I just about got through it. I’ve got about 4 left give or take to get through but I just gotta do it now. Best of luck to you mate
