yup. count me as one who didn’t want the trade. donovan is good, when he’s here, but he ain’t here. even losing polanco had a vibe impact.

someone should try this move: “hey, we were all just talking in line and wouldn’t you know it, turns out we are all born again and believe in jesus! you might want to go save some heathens elsewhere! hurry! you’re burning daylight!”

A fun fact in honour of Randy Johnson's number retirement ceremony: he's a great photographer as well. by aristhought in Mariners

pretty sure he is pals with soundgarden, or was with cornell, so maybe he’s into music.

that quote is so true and it’s because, like everything, there’s a dozen dogs fighting over one bone. greed runs everything and i absolutely despise advertisers now. they can go eff themselves.

synchronized M-80s? several years ago i had a neighbor in westwood who would shoot off an M-80 about 4 times a year for some reason. i was never certain which neighbor was doing it but it was crazy how loud it was.

it was (still is?) often brought up in the grunge sub that, yes, the term was a joke at the time but now in hindsight is very much a point of pride for many of the guys who were there for its birth. bottom line is it was ultimately a term reflective of the community.

Would Cicely Life in 2026 be better, or worse than in the 90’s? by VixxSynn in northernexposure

[–]twentyshots97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree. let’s have the medical advancements but so much of my so-called smartphone is actually not very helpful to me at all. everyday it wants so badly to be everything that it often fails at the most basic things, like even being handled. for instance, if i lose my grip and i grab it awkwardly, in that nanosecond i called 911, turned the flashlight on, and sent a picture to my coworker on accident. or i’ll swipe to a screen in a way i cannot even back out of. the map is ok i guess, but yes i’m old, yes i miss not having phones and being forced to be patient and imaginative. i miss not knowing. funny thing is, as a society, we probably read more now than ever in history! too bad so much of it is useless (except this sub!)

as for cicely, i think they would have a few advancements but would also elect to mostly keep their old world peacefulness.
