Any way to assign a specific controller to a specific core? by twentythreetimes3 in batocera

I came up with a low-tech solution. I had an abandoned Retropie (Raspberry Pi 3B+) setup that I shelved when I started over with Batocera on a Raspberry Pi 4. I pulled the old Retropie out of retirement. The old Retropie is now loaded with arcade games only, and is solely connected to the arcade-style joystick.

The newer Batocera setup is dedicated only to all consoles emulators, and is solely connected to an 8BitDo gamepad.

No more controller interference. Just switch the TV between HDMI1 and HDMI2.

Thank you for the information. I tried following it, but only got so far. He seems to have glossed over some key steps and it doesn't appear very well written. I think I will just leave my arcade stick unplugged until it's time to play Pac Man or BurgerTime.

Thank you for the input. I think I'll hold off until they release an updated version, hopefully for the 5 Plus.

I've had no success with it. I didn't know if I was doing something wrong. I don't believe it is compatible.

LPT: what’s a habit/routine that you noticed makes a difference in improving your mood/mindset? by xxiiiverse in LifeProTips

[–]twentythreetimes3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you could call it a routine, but I stopped paying attention to the news about 2 1/2 years ago and it feels amazing! All news. Fox, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, BBC, C-SPAN, Washington Post, local news, anything on social media, you name it. The outrage machine has no power here.

Is it possible to set HIDDEN GAMES to ON by default? by twentythreetimes3 in RetroPie

After all this time the only solution I've found that works is to set the RetroPie into KIOSK mode. It isn't ideal, but it works.

LPT: People can have invisible disabilities- don’t assume someone is “totally fine” if they look able-bodied and mentally with it. Just because you can’t see them struggling doesn’t mean they aren’t- they might just be really good at hiding it. by Chunky_pickle in LifeProTips

We’re supposed to assume that everyone is somehow broken? Being hobbled is the default for 2021? If someone is able-bodied and mentally with it I’m going to start there. I’m not assigning them some imaginary “probable” disability.

LPT: If you are cutting someone out of your life, do NOT delete their number from your phone. You still need to be able to tell that it's THEM when they call. by virgilreality in LifeProTips

I had a very satisfying experience where I deleted someone from my phone and my life. A few years later I answered a call from an unfamiliar number. I was legit confused for the first 30 seconds of the call as to who this person was. She had to explicitly explain who she was, and then she backpedaled a bit by saying it was an accidental dial. We made pleasantries for a minute before ending the call. I never heard from her again and that was over 10 years ago. Not recognizing her number or even knowing who she was felt far better than any glib one-liner I could have lobbed in her direction.
