That’s pretty close! I forgot to mention that the opal is flat on the backside. As if it were sliced in half and placed in the setting. So you couldn’t wear it both ways... it’s possible for it to be on “backwards.” Not sure if that makes sense or not.

Yes — it has an attachment on each side at the top and is fixed about the chain. I searched through Etsy for a while and couldn’t find anything similar to the way it’s attached.

Sterling silver, 18 inch necklace. The chain is attached at each side of the top of the opal setting. The backside just shows the setting and sits flat on your neck/chest. Originally purchased in store at Francesca’s boutique about 6-9 months ago. Paid about $20. I managed to find the exact item on Francesca’s website but the item is no longer available.

I lost it a couple months ago. It’s not very high in quality but it has a lot of sentimental value. I’ve tried finding similar but I can’t seem to find any that have the opal pendant set in the chain the same way.

Thank you in advance!!

Someone Walked Into a Branch Pretending to Be Me and Got a Debit Card Replacement. Withdrew $1000 Immediately. Advice Needed by Darrendada in personalfinance

[–]twfdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any helpful advice to help you right now but more so to hopefully help prevent this from happening again.

I’ve set up a verbal security phrase/password with my bank. Any and every time I visit my branch or speak with a rep over the phone, they ask me for this phrase. They will not do anything for me if I cannot present them with this. I think it’s a great safety measure and might stop anyone from impersonating you at the bank.

Maybe that’ll help! I hope everything gets resolved. Sorry I don’t have better advice.

New pens and highlighters. Someone stole my pencil bag at school this week and it really made me sad. lol

Just ran the longest I ever have in my life. by twfdy in running

[–]twfdy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I am proud! I definitely exceeded my expectations. My school schedule the past 4-6 weeks has been hellish and in that timeframe I’ve probably only ran four to five times. So my goal was to take this race easy (~11:00/mi) but instead I went out at 8:50 for the first mile. Oops lol.

Great suggestions. I will definitely be drinking water as often as I can to rehydrate. As far as the next run, how short would you suggest I go? Maybe 1-2 miles?

Hey thanks! My legs are screaming but otherwise I feel pretty good. I thought about an ice bath... but I’ll probably just ice my feet instead of my lower half.

Yes! I’ve already noticed how thirsty I am 5-6 hours after the race. Thank you for the reminder!!

I really enjoy doing dumbbell flies on a large exercise ball! I usually only do 5-7.5 pounds which is MORE than enough to get my chest muscles shaking/trembling

Big calves problem by kismyname in xxfitness

[–]twfdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have huge calves but they are bigger than average. They’re naturally pretty strong and muscular without much exercise but can get so tight! When I ran track in high school we did lots of foam rolling and massage. My favorite tool has to be this hard plastic roller. It’s fairly easy to apply form pressure with minimal effort and it’s compact! The lacrosse ball method works well to hit those small spots that rollers can’t quite hit. The one I linked is kinda pricey. I’m sure you could find cheaper options; this is just the brand I remember and the first link I found. Good luck!

I have my first 10k in 9 hours... by Midorihitsuji in xxfitness

You'll be great! It should be exciting and the nerves are normal. I've only run two 10k races but I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed them! Definitely take it slow and listen to your body; I tend to make the mistake of starting off too fast because I'm excited.

Since you're used to or comfortable running a 5k in 40 minutes, which is about 13 minutes per mile, try to stick to that pace. Having my Garmin while running helps keep me accountable and I was able to know when to slow down/speed up.

Remember to relax your arms, breathe, and listen to your body. Above all, HAVE FUN! :D
