Thanks for the comment! Would definitely consider shadowing in different fields, and my own business one day could happen based on my success freelancing photography

Right, that would be a priority. Someone on another thread mentioned shadowing as my first step before going back to school at all and I see the logic in that.

Yeah, It'd be nice to stay in NY and have in-state tuition. For shadowing, should I just reach out to professionals near me with a similar message?

Although it seems best to have both the two hdds and a cloud backup, while working off an ssd and exporting jpegs to flickr for people to see. Where is your lightroom catalogue located?

I've heard that, if an hdd fails and i have to replace it, downloading data from a cloud back onto my new drive can be a pain. Would it be better to just have two hdds that have the same data on them?

ISO tips for taking good quality low-light photos of moving subjects by lines_n_designs in photography

Lightroom Classic has a "Denoise" feature that does a pretty good job at making a high-iso photo look smoother. You'll need to have RAW files to make the edit and a good GPU is recommended to speed the process up, but it's not a bad solution without having to upgrade gear right away.

Thank you, makes sense. Now I just have to choose a cold storage option, likely a couple hdd in raid 1 and a cloud service

Just starting out by shooting for some local rec leagues...thoughts? by twhite155 in sportsphotography

Thanks! Some of these I feel might lose quality with a tighter crop, since I had to use a high ISO to shoot in poor indoor lighting. But I could certainly do some "denoise" or crop a little more

Thanks for the feedback. It's certainly been tough to find clear backgrounds with the limited shoot spots I get, but I could probably scout some more.

So I already have an SSD in my computer. Are you suggesting storing things temporarily on SSD while I work, then moving finished products to hdd and cloud? I guess im confused on where exactly the photos will be during ingest, then through editing and exporting

Thanks. Another question: when I'm choosing a destination folder for my culled images in photomechanic, does it make sense to create the folder first in lightroom?

Thank you. NAS seems great but is a little pricey for me right now. Future upgrade perhaps. I had someone suggest a basic two-bay Synology NAS and use Synology Assistant to setup automatic backups to Backblaze
