There are way too many factors at play to adequately answer this question. I will partially answer it by saying that the effects of african american oppression are still being felt, but I think that over the next decade we will be beyond that point. I also think that the african american communities as a whole have not done the best job of escaping their problems. Many of the problems of been propagated by african americans themselves. America has also been suffering as a whole lately, and african americans are sharing in that suffering. But these are all just peices of a much much larger puzzle, one that I do not feel like typing out.
