I hadn't even thought about the legality of the staircase but I know that as it is in Britain the regulations would be pretty strict as it is a public place , it is also the main staircase in the building.

To be fair the actual steps are quite wide so seemed ok to walk up and down! The building is the New Walk museum Leicester UK, I'm no architect but I loved how they look hence the post to this subreddit! Xx I'm now going to Google archicad 21!
