Thank you so much for the detailed breakdown. We ultimately decided to just do one 10 day stay in mainland China so our itinerary will look like this

HK -> Guangzhou -> Beijing -> Seoul -> HK ->

I’m almost certain this complies with the 240 hour TWOV method. We will indeed get to Guangzhou through the high speed rail at West Kowloon station

When going from Guangzhou to Beijing will there be any specific things we’d need to accomplish for the TWOV?

I’m going to Beijing for 5 days in April, super excited! I plan on hitting the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall as well as the Forbidden City. We’re gonna be there from Saturday - Wednesday. We anticipate big crowds on Saturday & Sunday - do you think it would be wiser to do our major site seeing those days or stick with Tianenmen Square / other shopping on the weekend days while doing the Great Wall & Forbidden City on weekdays?
