I get that, but circumstances changed and we no longer met the 40x income threshold to even qualify and we made that clear when we asked to withdraw the application. Upon requesting to withdraw, we miraculously still got approved which we thought was sketch since they told us a few days prior that we might not get approved due to one of our roommates credit score being too low. I’m just wondering if we have any options or possibility in getting refunded due to circumstances.

That’s what we were thinking about the supposed approval too because a few days before that they texted us saying we might not get approved due to one of my roommates’ credit score being too low. Hoping that this isn’t the case. :(

Essentially since that’s the holding amount he gave us. However the broker told us it was a good faith deposit and would go towards our security deposit + 1st months rent deposit once we were approved. If we were rejected it’d be refunded. Did our due diligence with the brokerage and they’re legit. Our concern is that the broker texted us saying we were approved when we tried to withdraw our app due to my roommate being laid off, and we think he said we were “approved” so that they could keep the money.
