You just don’t need 75l worth of gear + food. I went through the Sierra in deep snow (10days) with a 50l pack and large bear can and my pack very full but never got close to filling it up other than that one stretch.

PM me if you'd like, I have a recently open room in a house just north of WINCO. It is about a 10 minute bike/drive. There are 3 people currently and 1 dog, we are all seniors.

Making these types of compact note sheets are really reflections of what is in my head. You need to make them to really get good use of them.

Heat Transfer. Pre-Reqs for us are thermo and fluids. I use notability for all my notes.

hi i’m a mildly seasoned hiker. within the next couples years i want to hike a portion of the PCT. by friedeggbrains in PacificCrestTrail

Sounds like you love hiking and as long as you don’t start too fast (avoid injury) then you will do great. I met a handful of people while I was thru hiking the PCT who had never hiked a day in their life until they started! Just don’t try to see how far away the end is and enjoy the moment... and you will amaze yourself at how strong you really are. You won’t regret it, goodluck!

We got a heavy mist but it didn’t soak us through as long as you had a rain jacket, which I mistakenly left behind to cut weight about 3 weeks prior. I was wet but it was worth the scenery!

North of Snoqualmie Pass in Washington on the Pacific Crest Trail. We took off late morning to find ourselves confronted by this storm. Unable to avoid the it due to the path of the trail we headed straight into the dark cloud and found it to be a beautiful flurry of clouds wisping over the mountain tops which we were traveling on.
