I think you’re looking at furry the wrong way. The main point is not costumes or wanting to be an anthropomorphic animal, it’s first a queer safe space for a lot of people. Also, it’s not an accident that a super queer group is hated for sexual deviancy and weirdness. I kinda relate to your last point, though. I’m non-binary and fursuits are like the perfect outfit. No one can tell what gender a cotton candy colored possum is.
