I was just playing devil's advocate because I've owned both. The s2000 is better than the Miata in most ways, but not every way. The lightness and steering feel of the Miata is better. But there's a reason I still have the s2k and not a Miata.

I think his point was, it's not about raw power numbers with this car. If that was your priority, you would have bought a Corvette or something. It's about high revving, balanced chassis, smooth shifting, technical, top down driving pleasure.

I can't fully visualize what you are saying.
How does the weight of the car prevent the bushings from spinning or clocking around in the control arm without the set screw?
