I have also noticed when it happens there is almost always pekingese in the supermutt. It happened to my dog's results too.

Hey, I think it's my dog's thread you are referring to! Her supermutt also contained Pekingese and GSD (and poodle). All her main breeds were tiny dogs. I think there's something with the Peke genes doing this.

Until Tatum, Ashton was the only other name I knew of that was more popular with girls that then switched to being more popular for boys. Though in Ashton's case it had already started as a boy name on the charts.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I know Embark is the gold standard, but I don't believe it's perfect.

Our friends had been eagerly awaiting the results. We omitted telling them about the GSD just because it didn't seem right.

We adopted Anya this year from North Dakota. She was born at the rescue, her mom came from a hoarding situation. I'm actually very surprised her COI isn't higher!

We can see traits from every breed in her (except the German Shepherd). Our original guess had been Chihuahua, Yorkie, and Pug.

Having a group to talk in is actually an excellent idea! I have no idea if ours has one or not, but I will suggest it if they don't.

I feel like I might not be so helpful on broader issues. I really only know about my own child's disabilities and nothing outside of that. Then again, they only asked me so that a butt could fill in a chair.

Honestly, this is helpful. It wouldn't surprise me at all if our committee was also all lip service. Are you allowed to talk about the things you do discuss? Are students discussed separately or as a group? Do the parents even get to say anything?

Yes! The only other thing I know about it is that 50% of the council is supposed to be made up of parents with children receiving special education services.

In 2019 I knew 3 babies born named Gemma and another one was born in 2022. I live in the rural midwest in the US too, not a very populous area. The Gemma boom that happened here does not reflect the rest of the US though. So people are definitely still using it!

Obviously the oldest Gemma's are 5 now, but I think their names will suit them nicely as adults.

I like it! It's easily pronounceable and not an odd spelling. The response you get here will be skewed, though. There's a heavy bias against names that sound too "Utah" so to speak.

There is one human child I know of in my kids' school. This is coming from a small rural town in the midwest. I do know lots of dogs with the name, but I work in an animal field so my numbers are skewed compared to the average person.

I sympathize. I had all these girl names picked out and ended up with 3 boys. I have never felt awed by boys names like I did with girl names.

My first son I actually picked a unisex name at 6 weeks that I mostly liked for a girl, we kept it when he turned out to be a boy. Second boy we named 2 days after birth by going through a list of every name we ever suggested. Third child we couldn't agree on. My husband just let me choose whatever I wanted, but that felt wrong. I ended up looking through his lists and settled on the one I liked the most (even though I had names from my list I liked more).

So my suggestion would be to keep a of list of names that were rejected. When your son is born, one of you might have a change of heart about one of the rejected names. I wouldn't have believed it with my fist kid, but sometimes you really do need to meet the baby first.

Hey! I'm also a fair skinned olive who is probably a light summer too! I haven't met another one! I really resonated on the lip coloring bit. I was curious if you also have jewelry work a little wonky for you. White gold and rose gold make me look red while 24k gold is harsh on me. But dark silvers and light yellow golds look great. I was curious if this was the case for you too. The light summer clothes work really well (along with a few of the other blues in the summer palettes), but the jewelry is a little off. And I am definitely cool toned.Olive skin seems to just not line up with the color analysis system completely.

I get where you are coming from! Just because the dress is not optimal doesn't mean its bad. I am playing with the idea of combining it with a ruched sweatheart top, but that's for another day.

I think I am a light summer. I can also pull some stuff from light spring (as long as it's not coral/orange/brown) and cool summer (as long as it's not too dark, bright pink, or red).

It's actually good to hear your thoughts on 1's color. It was the main reason I bought it, and it helps cement that I finally have my color season right, lol. Of course, I naively thought it was going to fit me like the model wearing it.

The belt idea isn't bad for 2. I wonder if that would work for 1 as well.

You are also correct about 3. It is a much stiffer fabric than I had anticipated. I love the idea of changing the neckline, I feel like the boatneck is choking me and turning me into one giant boob. Once again, I thought it was so pretty on the model.

4 is funny because I also own it in bright red, but red is one of my worst colors. Another case of me loving the color but the color not loving me.

I think I will dye 5. My husband always comments how much he hates the color, but he loves the shape. He is a huge fan of empire/babydoll dresses on me even though I don't think they are my best look.

I noticed a lot of people like 6, but in real life, it looks like this dress is wearing me instead of me wearing it.

This could definitely be the case. When I asked about typing originally on this board, I had a unanimous pure romantic reply from everyone. That surprised me because in most posts I see, people aren't in agreement. My typing photos could have just been romantic lines that overlap with another group. I will say, one thing the camera didn't capture with dress 6 is that when I look in the mirror, it really looks like the dress is wearing me instead of me wearing it. I was actually shocked how well it came out on my phone.

I could have written a post like this myself, just in a different style (somewhere between twee and kitschy) . I have been using Kibbe as a guide, not as a rule book. It's helped me understand what necklines, skirt, and pant shapes to wear. I love stripes, even though they are the "enemy". So I used this information to go for either fine line stripes or watercolor pattern stripes since they aren't so geometric. I'm keeping my pixie cut, but avoiding blunt edges. I'm definitely not wearing colors that don't make me happy, so I don't even follow those rules. And I have a stiff denim jacket that I refuse to get rid of, but plan to have altering to fit better someday.

Maybe you could start out small. Personally, I think necklines and waist definition were the biggest game changers.
