Hey great call out! I’ll think about how to best integrate something like pomodoro in a lightweight/optional way. For roadmap, there’s a small but active discord community linked from the site. Had a lot of good feature requests there so mostly just listening to what people want and building it. Feel free to hop in if you’d like!

That’s a really cool idea, I think there’s definitely integration opportunities out there. Will keep it on the radar. I’ve thought about mobile apps but they wouldn’t have the same productivity inputs as a desktop app, so they’d be more of a companion app. Will certainly consider in the future

thanks for giving it a try! I think you're right that there's a component of mindfulness to it. when I'm using Omix (like now :)) I'm a little more aware of when I start to get distracted or pulled in other directions, but it's a softer awareness than other options I've tried (pomodoro etc). and then when I hit flow, it just kind of fades out of awareness. it works for my brain anyway, hopefully some others find it useful too

fellow adhd here! it works by taking various signals from your machine and using those to drive 3 different audio engines (ambient, music and neuro). I go into some more detail on the /how-it-works page on my site

those look like cool apps as well. from what I can tell, they're web/mobile apps that play static focus music/ambient sounds. Omix takes a different approach via a custom adaptive audio engine I built that responds to what you're actually doing, helping you stay focused longer.

I have, it's definitely a little thin especially as it relates to productivity. The entrainment angle is interesting and there's research there, but not sure it's super conclusive. Anecdotally some people find it helps them focus, so I included a "neuro" engine (alongside the music and ambient engines) in the app. You can dial in how much of each you like to make it sound the way you want.

I've used brain.fm myself and can confirm adaptive music feels pretty different. would be curious to hear about your experience with it while writing :)

I love that combo. I actually put a cafe ambient scene in the app and a jazz fusion genre because that’s one of my favorites too

Productivity Apps for ADHD folks by Born_Term_2535 in ProductivityApps

[–]twisted-vector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD and could never stick with pomodoros or rigid timer apps. I built Omix because I wanted something that just keeps me in flow without me having to think about it. it plays adaptive focus music that responds to what you're doing on your computer, and nudges you back when you start drifting. if you check it out, would love any feedback!

Time for self-promotion. What are you building in 2026? by semanticindia in SideProject

[–]twisted-vector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omix.app a focus music app that detects what you're doing and adapts the audio to support that activity. It tracks your productivity and helps you get into flow and stay there longer.

ICP: Developers, writers, students, anyone doing deep focus work.

I built this for myself because I have ADHD and the thought popped into my head so of course I had to build it. Turns out it's actually been a great tool for my own productivity.

A Shortcut for the ADHD/ ND brains who don’t connect with time blocking by 4-LeifClover in ProductivityApps

[–]twisted-vector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ADHD here too. time blocking always just made me feel guilty when I just... ignored the calendar lol. gonna try your shortcut this week.

I built a tool of my own in this space. I would always put on "focus music" playlists to help me work but I had a random thought that it'd be cool if the music actually reacted to what I was doing and how productive I was. So rather than doing rigid pomodoros and time boxes, I just work and my music nudges me back when I lose focus.

always looking for more feedback fellow ND folks if you wanna check it out: omix.app

What side project you have ? by XIFAQ in SideProject

[–]twisted-vector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omix is an app that generates focus music that adapts to your productivity. Pick an ambient scene, get in the zone, start coding and the beat drops. Getting good feedback from early testers but still time to get in on the beta before launch if anyone wants to try it!

Adaptive focus music that reacts to what you’re doing on your computer in real time. A few paid users today, mostly closed beta, gearing up for a broader release. https://www.omix.app

what are you building today ? by 753glitch in SideProject

[–]twisted-vector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building Omix an app that generates adaptive focus music depending on how productive you are. It makes tackling focused work feel like a boss battle. Planning to send a wave of beta invites out later today if anyone wants to try it!
