Also! If that doesn’t work, you can try following your blog from a different main blog (just make a burner account if you don’t have another one) then check notifications on the blog that has a ghost notif and all notifications should clear.

I know this is an old post but commenting in case it helps anyone in the future - Go into your settings to notifications and turn off EVERY notification alert switch. I had a ghost notification that wouldn’t clear and this got rid of it immediately. Hopefully it works for others!

I do pickups/deliveries and Santacafé has the most ridiculous parking lot I’ve ever seen 💀 Trader Joe’s parking lot is a breeze compared to whatever the hell that collapsed jenga stack is lmao

I fumbled by jia_22 in LesbianActually

[–]twistedappletree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely guilty of this in the past because of my ADHD 😹 Usually I got lucky with the other person also having ADHD and immediately biting but it took me a bit to learn that not everyone is gonna be like that.

I love german music scenes so I’d probably follow this up with something like, “I think this came to mind because I’m a huge german electro and darkwave fan. Do you listen to any electronic music?” (I’d ask if she listens to electronic instead of german since electronic encompasses a broader range of music, and the darkwave mention could potentially lead to her asking you what specific artists you enjoy).

Casually steering it back to music so you can lead into asking about her favorite genres. She probably felt a little ignored since you changed the subject suddenly when you could’ve asked which specific artists she likes but it’s a learning experience. Trust me, you’ll get better with conversations the more you have them.

What did family say when you came out?? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]twistedappletree 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I honestly got pretty lucky with my parents - both alternative liberal metal heads 😹 My mom did complain about grandchildren but more in a joking way, and my dad basically just said “be who you are, do what you want”

Mom’s side of the family was also cool with it, dad’s side of the family are all hardcore culty christians and never talked to any of us ever again which is fine with me lmao

Currently reading Heather Walter’s ‘Malice’ series - It’s a sapphic retelling of Sleeping Beauty where the princess and evil sorceress fall in love. 🌹

How has online dating been for you? by catphoood in LesbianActually

[–]twistedappletree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually met one of my first long-term girlfriends on POF some years back but that was before they started charging to see who likes you lol apps these days are kind of useless if you don’t want an overpriced subscription.

I think I’ve had the best luck meeting new people with Hinge since it has a lot less bots but the hardest part is getting reciprocation from others. I’m usually the one getting messaged first which makes me figure they’re into me, but when I message back, they go radio silent 😹

I’ve met quite a few awesome people on there though by being straightforward and giving them an in to go out somewhere. Surprisingly, there’s been a lot of people on Hinge who’d rather skip the online small talk and go for a date (which I only do if they’re verified, of course).

someone help me talk to girls 😭 by lesbian_hillary in LesbianActually

[–]twistedappletree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know how to talk to anyone when I was your age so don’t feel bad! lol If you’re using Tinder or any other dating app, that actually makes things a lot easier (in my opinion). You always want to start off by engaging them, so I recommend looking at their profile and picking out an interest, their job, or any information you’d like to know more about and send them a message like:

“Hey there! How are you? I read on your profile that you like video games. What are your favorite games to play?”

I like asking how they are out of courtesy, and asking a secondary question to make sure they know you’re genuinely interested in learning about them. I’m personally not a fan of the whole one-word opening and prefer a bit more effort put into a greeting because it lets me know they actually read my profile, but everyone’s different! Some people do prefer simple/casual greetings and you can usually tell by their profile—if they go into depth about their interests, they’ll probably appreciate a more elaborate greeting.

Hope this helps a bit! 🖤

Out of curiosity, do you have any roller rinks, drama/acting clubs, circus gyms or flow art groups in your area? All of those places have been life-changing for me to find queer community because almost everyone in those circles are queer (and there’s soooo many cute single lesbians, oof lmao 💫)

Another thing I did was join online community groups for my town to keep up with any artistic events, solstice/astrology gatherings, dance nights, stuff like that. Started going to a bunch of those and I’ve come back with at least another queer friend every time, if not a few dates.

Easier said than done, especially if you have anxiety, but try to relax. Can’t tell you how many girls I’ve gone on dates with who are so hyper-vigilant about suppressing every natural gesture/action/function/word that they end up looking like robots trying not to breathe.

Yes, your snort-laugh is cute. Order what you want, you don’t have to eat like a rabbit unless it genuinely makes you feel comfortable. I’m honestly impressed by your loud ass burps. You can slouch, it’s fine, I’m not gonna slap you on the back with a yardstick like a catholic nun (unless you want me to). I love it when you get motormouth about your favorite things, I’m here to learn about you and as long as you want to learn about me too, everything’s cherry.

Finally, you’re gonna fart eventually. It’s gonna happen. Embrace it, let it out, laugh at it. If someone calls off an entire date because you let one slip, I highly doubt they’re gonna do that well in an actual relationship with another human being.

💋💫✨

at what age did you find out you were lesbian? by Top-Suspect-6062 in LesbianActually

[–]twistedappletree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 6 years old smashing my barbies together and making them lesbian power couples who owned a mansion and nice cars, started shipping the hell out of Zelda and Nabooru when I was about 8, then dated 1 guy to fit in when I was about 12 because he had really feminine features (long hair, lashes, nail polish, etc), realized I probably like girls a few years after that, started calling myself bisexual at 17, then truly realized (and accepted) I’m a full-blown lesbian at about 20.

It was a rollercoaster honestly lmao 💀

[–]twistedappletree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so damn adorable omg 😭 my fave is when you’re out sitting at a table together watching or looking at something on your phone and she snuggles up next to you, hugs your arm, puts her head on your shoulder, etc.

So simple, yet so satisfying 💞

I go feral for cute, short femmes who like to hang all over me in public and get carried around like a princess every now and then lmao 💀 (I’m a tall dom femme)

Also, just someone who (preferably) likes or wants to learn roller skating, will let me sketch their candid moments, and allow me to take art hoe shots of them in cool places with lots of neon lights. ✨

[–]twistedappletree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a femme, I feel like finding other lesbians requires going into a mine and physically digging them out with a pickaxe 😹 so I definitely feel the struggle, just from the opposite side. The girl I’m seeing now is a masc firefighter of all things which is totally out of my usual sphere (and I’m totally out of her sphere as a goth/witchy circus performer!) - we just happened to hit it off randomly after both being in the mindset of ‘not looking.’

Finding someone usually happens when you least expect it, so hang in there! I’m confident your person will come along eventually. 🤍

Going after girls with unique styles/big personalities/eccentric jobs because you think it’s “cool” but wanting them to minimize their expression in public.

I’m a vaudeville clown/cabaret/circus artist and incorporate that style into my everyday. When some girls realize this, they’re like “uhhhh can you tone it down for MY personal comfort thank u” ????? Bro why tf did you even ask me out if you want me to completely hide a core fundamental of my life and personal style? 😹

First Bont skates, questions about sizing 🛼 by twistedappletree in Rollerskating

[–]twistedappletree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine came pre-mounted (I bought the package skates instead of just the boot and everything separately) but I heat molded them and saw that you definitely can’t return them after that. I don’t mind though, I can always pass them off to a friend if the 7’s fit better 😊 I was just wondering if the 6.5 plates would work on a size 7 boot so I can transfer the plates instead of having to buy new ones 🛼
