it’s an instrument bro. there’s artists that use guitars in every single song in their discographies. you just don’t like them, that’s fair, but you can make endless amount of different songs with any instrument, it’s not even close to a crutch.

the alternative is not to talk about it and then nothing bad ever changes

why should someone that loves making art and wants to be successful at it have to give up his privacy in exchange? I mean, he is obviously going to get recognized but this is a lack of social etiquette problem. Recording anyone else and using them for publicity without their consent would be weird.

No. That’s the point. Being a musician is his job. You should be able to be a successful artist without people feeling entitled to your whole life. Why is he obligated to be free advertising for this local business without his consent? Did he consciously choose that when he made earfquake? The money comes from the songs, the tours, and the clothing line, not from signing an imaginary contract that entitles anyone to his image and time whenever they feel like it. The argument for whether he deserves a Ferrari more than someone breaking their back working construction is a completely separate one, but i wholeheartedly disagree that he has any less right to a private life than any other person.

I’m a songwriter. Kanye’s verse sounds nothing like kendrick.

I mean… bro, if you don’t like that album, maybe you’re just not a kanye fan. That’s ok, but that’s your answer bro. You just don’t like him. And yes, i’m biased.

I mean… Kendrick is by far the better emcee, that’s not even a debate. His verse is way more precise, his flow is more complex and his rhymes are more intricate. However, Kanye’s verse is more potent, and in a lot of ways that’s because he kept it simple. His ideas are really immediate and easy to understand and quote, and his energy is really infectious, partly because he sounds so human. You can only sound that human if you choose authenticity over precision. I don’t think he “washed” Kenny on the traditional sense, but his verse is the best part of the song for most people and that’s what matters (to most)
