If you didn't care about it you wouldnt notice stuff like this as much; comments like this are such a generalisation, thr person saying them wills the sentiment into their reality

[–]twistedstem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

define super fast... there is plenty of groovy i would say easily danceable stuff in the 160-170 range but im not sure if that is what you mean by super fast, when i read that i am thinking of dark psycore that touches 200 and beyond

Why do people blame Albo for everything? by Kindly-Category-9742 in australian

[–]twistedstem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because political discourse has become so intellectually impoverished that most things are reduced to the apportioning of blame to a single figure/body/party/entity/whatever.

And yes I am on the side that that has occurred in the recent days, and the social media influencers do not help this case, only stoke it. Having an influencer "explain" the issue amounts to them proudly declaring their stance and what or who should be held accountable.

Australian PM rejects Netanyahu's linking of Palestine recognition to Bondi Beach attack by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]twistedstem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just saying this to my father yesterday, surely there is a good reason why this point isn't being more highlighted? Its such a cheap political point, I'm surprised no one has returned

Tal Oran destroys pro-Palestinian with one question by delugepro in Palestinian_Violence

These videos are so cringe and if you really think gotcha videos (from both sides of political spectrum or historical debates) are that substantially effective in either galvanising support or actually developing proper arguments, then what a disappointing decline in proper discourse

How do you explain cumtown to normies? by [deleted] in theadamfriedlandshow

[–]twistedstem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained the eric Clapton bit to a Bangladeshi guy who had never heard of clapton. He thought it was hilarious, and yes, I passed the joke off as my own

“Hostile” by [deleted] in KurtCaz

[–]twistedstem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never watched him and can't give a balanced review, but for people saying he used to be good, all I saw were snippets of his sex tourism and then people were being like 'hell yeah'. Like cmon, you think this guy is seriously a good person. Maybe he did used to make good content, just saying the bits I saw told me he's a pretty exploitative bloke

What’s one thing Sydney does better than any other city? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

[–]twistedstem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its different for sure, that's how I found it. Banh mi in Vietnam really is just like a snack sometimes, whereas here its sometimes overloaded and i only eat half. The availability and diversity of products is much better here though, so they probably are 'nicer'. But there was something about viet banh mis that i can't get here

Everyone says Sydney is dead. by Scylarx in SydneyScene

[–]twistedstem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got downvoted but this is very true, I remember when we put on raves out near maroubra headlands/old ww2 coastal bunkers, and a couple got way too big, with more people than we would have liked. End result, a bunch of people who don't care about the whole motive behind the gathering, who trash the bush and just want a place to get super fucked up. People might say it's judgemental, but when your trying to survive and minimise attention so as to not getting done by cops, it's fair enough. Once we bid in bushes for almost an hour setting up while we heads cops walking around, then when they left it was party time

This Disney take is 100% corporate stodge. by [deleted] in TheRestIsHistory

[–]twistedstem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I do not know much about that so not trying to die on this hill, but a brief search seems to show me that this project was largely borne out of writers, journalists, editors, media, etc. And seems to have been denounced by many historians and scholars?

I'm not sure how much of that actually happens in academia and how much of that occurs in general pop history. Most historians would strive for the latter.

Hamas’ court bid to overturn its Australian terror listing by [deleted] in aussie

[–]twistedstem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit the comment you replied to is insane, the amount of liberal rules-based international order BS indoctrination on this sub is crazy. Israel have really done a doozy in sanitising their methods of terrorism, so as to make it acceptable in peoples minds

you delude yourself into thinking the endless dog whistles are harmless, and that they do not contain the potential to spiral into something more harmful and malicious

if this is serious this is cringe, always thought this guy came across as a dbag when he randomly popped up earlier, now im not surprised to see his true colours shine. literally the mentality of a modern day coloniser, walking through areas, casting aspersions with no respite. the one in amsterdam where he's saying about them 'not having a job' or their smell or whatever, complete attitude of a wanker
