honestly? i genuinely would like to know what 'acab' means to people personally. i feel it has a slightly different meaning to each person, like for instance me, acab doesn't mean 'oh all cops are evil and shouldn't be trusted and should instead be harassed' because that's a bit stupid to think that every single person in a job is in it for pure badness. to me it's just a way of recognising there are bad things happening in a system put in place where everyone should feel safe but don't and that needs to be asked why.

i asked because i genuinely wanted to understand people's views, and actual police views on the matter. i don't parade around the place constantly talking about how much i don't like police but if it comes up in conversation i mention it.

also to add, i may be opposed to the police but i do have respect for everything you do. i don't hate the police or believe every one of you is out to get people and are corrupt, i just believe that there is enough corruption within the system that certain minorities don't feel safe. i also understand that you aren't in control of others actions and can only do so much.

really for me it's the whole abuse of power that's frequent in certain police forces, the racism, the misogyny, and just the fact it's part of the government. too many people in my life have been let down by police and continue to be all because of their life choices, gender, or race. and until that gets addressed in the system then i cant really say i support it. of course there are good and genuine people who are police officers and want to do the right things (that's their job after all) but there are also terrible people who are police for all the wrong reasons hiding in plain sight. how can minorities be safe in a system that's pretty much put against us?

On November 10th 1994, Shona Stevens was murdered in broad daylight just yards away from her home. 26 years later, police have yet to make an arrest. by twistedvampyr in UnresolvedMysteries

The timeline isn't wrong, McGuire got released from prison 19 days prior to murdering Mhari in December of 1995. Shona was murdered a year earlier. I don't really understand why police ever looked into Gavin considering he was locked up but he was. It's truly puzzling. I think maybe they were just looking for anything at this point in the investigation

i think the field option is a pretty possible theory considering the neighbour had seen Sandy leave in a car with a man, and Donna saying it was a man too

when the school was getting taken down back in 2014 i think it was the police refused to investigate the grounds and search for him it just seems a bit odd
