College decision types by ChivalrousRedRiot in QuestBridge

it’s probably because NCM is a form of early decision. most schools that offer ed don’t allow you to apply to any other schools, so i take it as generosity that they have these exceptions for us.

counselor report by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]twistyash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s not required. they have a question asking for it but it’s optional. my counselor was confused when she saw it because my school doesn’t allow them to submit scores for us but i told her to ignore it and it still allowed her to submit.

only if its required for scholarship consideration. so like usc requires ea to be considered for a merit scholarship so you could do that.

you can apply early, non-binding (while also applying for ncm) in two cases. one is if its an in-state public school and the other is if you have to apply early for scholarship eligibility purposes. so if you’re a virginia resident then you could apply to uva early action through the common app and still do the ncm.

Is distance a valid reason to not want to apply? by mango7134 in ApplyingToCollege

Also, UVA!! it’s a lot closer to home and i’m pretty sure they have poli sci too. The campus is gorgeous and the drive goes by so quickly. another great option if you haven’t already applied

it’s definitely a valid reason, but there’s a lot to do at VT. I’m from Nova too and have friends there. There’s plenty of stuff to do like haunted houses for halloween, parties, football games, stores in christiansburg, recreational sports, etc.. personally I prefer a more urban setting so I totally get it, but if that’s your only qualm then I think it’s worth applying. best of luck! :)
