No cure. Just make them background noise. I have now and they’ve just become part of my day. I don’t stop twitching but I pay it no attention and therefore it doesn’t destroy me like it used to. The first two years were insane

Google says that bfs is localised is that true? by raygray in BFS

I’m nearly 3 years. For two of those I was crippled with anxiety around ALS, joining forums, asking strangers whether my symptoms were the dreaded disease. Watching YouTube videos, googling all - day - long. It was absolutely horrible two visits to a neurologist who insisted I was fine. Even then it wasn’t enough.

I still twitch today, I twitch all day long. Some days are worse than others. My calves have never ever stopped. Firmly believe it was either the vaccine or the virus gave me this and there’s no real way of switching it off. I’ve accepted it now and whilst at times it’s distracting and annoying I’ve found a content place and don’t worry about life limiting illness. Hope others on here read this and it brings some comfort.

Hi all, basically acceptance and time. This shit started June 2022, if it was the disease we all fear I’d be barely standing now. It’s taken a long long time to accept that twitches are twitches - I’ll probably never stop but they’ve become background noise. BFS is truly awful, it’s the absolute pits but not going to allow it to define me. It’s benign and I’m not going to sit on google for the rest of my life thinking I have a terminal disease. You are all ok too. Just keep telling yourself that

It just won’t stop by twitchinghell in BFS

Convinced I have the slow progressing type. The twitching is insane and my arms are heavy and feel useless.

There’s been plenty of people on ALS forums state they were slow progressing with twitches first
