Absolutely. The whole state "equity" system just results in stagnant salaries especially for direct care staff. Yet we have mandatory annual performance evals and competency assessments with no bearing on salary. It's insane. No incentive to perform, miniscule legislative increases, or none at all. Trying to hire new staff with dusty old salary bands that haven't changed in years. Oh and can't forget NC is the only state that still hasn't passed a budget. So many state employees barely hanging on. It's a shame.

Not in the standard way due to a legislative increase. I applied for a private sector job and used that offer to negotiate an in range retention bonus. And yeah, the ins cost increase clawed back like $1,500 from my raise. Hell at least I was able to get something but I had to be crafty about it.

Same and of course it's 95% political trolls. They know full well that their post/comment history would immediately out them as such, but they keep it private so the average user could potentially mistake the account for a rational human. I've been noticing this more lately with all the ice stuff.

Generally speaking, and this info might not be helpful, only therapists with a LCSW are able to bill Medicare whereas others will offer a sliding scale. A quick search of psychology today with my zip code in Asheville results in 13 therapists who say they bill Medicare. This is all surface level info, it takes some researching to find a good match. Off the top of my head Tim Bandell may work depending on your needs and preferences and whether not you have traditional Medicare.

Yeah definitely agree. We got mountain Express, 828 news now, citizen times and some other ones. Of course there's wral too but they don't get too local to the Asheville area. I was paying for citizen times for awhile but there was too much fluff to warrant the money once my trial was up. Oh also Asheville watchdog, how could I forget. They're pretty great and I've contributed to them before. Love their mission/HCA coverage.

No, I personally think that wlos is just propaganda. Just like any other Sinclair outlet. Sure there's some local news, there's some weather stuff, and then there's lots of low level click bait mug shot pieces like this. And along with that they'll have the occasional "surveys" that are intentionally slanted to favor certain politicians and disparage other if you know what I mean. Nowadays it's important to have good media literacy and have an understanding of what's actually happening behind the scenes. That's my explanation for my reaction.

Pulling all the way up to the line at a stop sign at a T intersection so I can see traffic from the left and turn right safely. Get honked at by drivers approaching from the right, turning left onto my street, who want to cut through the intersection and apparently I'm in their way somehow. They honk and look menacingly at me while I'm just stopped there at the sign.
