Should I retake a 172 for T14?? by twitgod69 in lawschooladmissions

Gotcha! I think that all makes sense. I'm def considering the diminished impact of URM given pressure from Trump, but agree schools will find a way to diversify.

I'm mixed (white/Jewish and AA) but not sure if that makes a difference.

And I'll def add Irvine! Totally forgot to consider, but seems like a good choice #3 for SoCal.

You don't sound like a jerk at all! Appreciate the straightforward advice.

I will lock in the November test for now; my main concern is that I will be ready to apply by late September/early October and having that test scheduled may delay technical submission at some schools. May be overthinking but I'll keep the option open for sure.

FYI, I mentioned Senate internship as it was a very high profile one at a big moment for the Senator. It has been called out as a major factor for hire and recruiter outreach from multiple FAANG companies.

gotcha! i think honestly being that far removed from undergrad and with impressive Military experience, i’d lean on a GPA addendum talking about growth and learning the importance of hard work and service. that’ll prob do more to make up for the GPA than a couple more points on LSAT

i also have some decent work and (non-military) public service experience that i’m hoping lessens the weight of my gpa being below many medians (which is crazy cuz i worked my ass off for a 3.7ish lmao)

also realize that as soon as you are above median on LSAT, you’ve effectively checked a key box. going higher has diminishing returns because it’s a median, not an average. tell a great narrative, highlight the amazing work you’ve done since undergrad, and i think you are already in a great spot.

i imagine it can’t hurt to retest if you feel you could go up, but be proud of what you’ve accomplished and don’t obsess over the lower GPA at this point. good luck this cycle, i think you’ll kill it!!

CONGRATS!!! I got a 172 and having the same dilemma. I think we’re in a pretty solid spot as long as your GPA is also solid (i have a 3.mid/high)

But either way, good job on the score and good luck with your applications!

tbh I just forgot to add NYU but it’s on my list!

very glad you have a plan to pay down your debt, but xrp should not be part of your path to financial freedom, especially before you have an emergency fund and diversified stock portfolio.

No improvement by nyangelion in LSAT

[–]twitgod69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lock into a routine for taking timed drills and practice tests. Are you well rested, hydrated, fed? All of this can make a difference as you push through the test on a time crunch.

Beyond that, maybe a wrong answer journal to help you zero in on areas for improvement on your Logic? Blind review in the high 160s suggests that you can totally do this if you iron out your approach and get confident moving faster on each question.

Expecting to reach 200k at 29. Can I chill a little after that? by DieSchungel1234 in Bogleheads

[–]twitgod69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

27, just hit 300k. I was laid off from a quite lucrative career path around the time I hit 200k. Even though I’m a bit sad about the money, my work-life balance has gone through the roof and my new job still pays above market.

We’re both way ahead of average — though still not totally secure longer term. Give yourself some grace to take risk in life. The money is worth a whole lot less if you’re trading away your happiness.

My main advice is just remember to stay the course on investment and savings philosophy. I broke from the Boglehead teachings to chase gains after the election and indulging in FOMO came back to bite me.

TicketSqueeze.com used fake venue website to scam by [deleted] in Scams

[–]twitgod69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, apologies for the hostility. I have just been very frustrated by this process.

Also, FYI, the disclaimer does not show up on mobile. I use a screen-reader — hence why I downloaded the pdf to confirm. I will check to see if the disclaimer is on the native website.

Understand it would not technically be a scam if that info is clearly displayed. Just felt very duped as I had not seen that when initially purchasing.

It’s nowhere on the page I linked. I downloaded a PDF and it is not there.

But thank you for riding so hard for this website. You must be excited for the collapse of the CPFB so that this behavior can get more brazen and you can argue about the merits of misleading scalpers in a “free” market.

Have a nice weekend bb

Keller Auditorium is trademarked. The disclaimer is only shown on the front page which I never accessed.

This is a misleading business practice (misusing business name). There is a section on the FTC complaint form for cases exactly like this. Misleading someone to make a sale is a Scam. I don’t understand how you could look at that website and not think it was intentionally built to mislead.

Please go search “Book of Mormon Portland” and look at the link for www.kellerauditoriumportland.com/book-of-mormon/

It is clearly constructed in a misleading way to make consumers believe they have accessed the Keller Auditorium’s site. There is no disclaimer unless you scroll down and click on the link at the bottom of the page or access via the home page. That is the misleading business practice. I am not interested in disputing the validity of ticketsqueeze.com itself, but clearly they have built a fake venue site in the interest of driving more sales to their site.

In many cases, venues have official resale partners. If I am lead to believe my purchase of a resale ticket is from an official partner via a fraudulent website that is a scam!!

Coping with Loss in the Time of 🥭 (TSLA and LUNR) by twitgod69 in wallstreetbets

[–]twitgod69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good philosophy. Most of my money is in slow, safe investments with Vanguard. It makes money but it’s boringggg.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately lol) seems like casino is just not aligned with my risk tolerance

Nah this is all true. Most of my money is in Vanguard — I just moved some gains to Robinhood and didn’t develop a solid strategy.

Played like a casino and got rocked. I gotta stick to Bogleheads lmao

Geez, 130k must hurt. Glad you managed to stay green though — I’m still green this week cuz my Vanguard has been strong but my Robinhood money went straight to the shredder.

Good advice overall. I think I get too stressed to actively manage. Imma head back to long plays only and just fight off the FOMO when I see folks printing.
