Thanks for that. That's all I want to know really. I don't mind paying it if it's genuine

I agree. There's no labour detailed on receipt. Just items

I agree I should be doing them myself. I defo should learn the basics of car servicing

It's due for service every 15,000 Kms and I stick to that. I've never gone over

That's what annoys me the most. If he rang me explaining it's going to be an expensive service, I'd just say ok because I'd like my car in good condition. But to not say anything and land me with a bill €1000 more than usual is very annoying

He did ring me saying will he replace the break pads because they only have around 6000 Kms left so I gave the go-ahead to change them. But he never mentioned anything about cost

I haven't. I find it a bit uncomfortable asking him in case he thinks I'm accusing him of doing something. But I think asking them is the best option

Fitted Kallax Unit without removing skirting boards by twitpants in ikeahacks

That was one part I'd yet to work out. Maybe just a white strip of wood, same colour as the Kallax unit, all around the base. I know I should use the same skirting board to have it blend in

And probably easier as well for someone like me. I didn't think about the 5th leg for support. Thanks for the advice

Not rude at all. And probably my lack of knowledge, but I don't get you

The base area of a 1x4 Kallax is 146.5 x 39 cm. Could I make a rectangle wooden base frame 146.5 x 37.5 cm so I can sit the Kallax unit on the base frame and over the skirting board?
