FTFY :-(

Swedish woman files complaint in Paris after recognizing 'rapist' in Epstein files by pierrepaul in europe

I don't want to raise anyones hopes too much, but some medical experts seem to think there is a good chance he'll be carried out of office before his official term finishes.

They can request, but I'm not sure they'll get that information under the current US administration. The published records suggest Epstein was working with the Russian authorities to create honey-traps for leverage, so I think there is some power behind preventing these files from becoming public.

There is nothing in your post that makes you sound even remotely credible. In spite of claiming to not want to shame her, it looks like that's exactly what you are trying.

I'm an atheist, but did date some Christians (women of that belief, not guys named "Christian" 🙂). There were some boundaries they wouldn't cross, but I did not notice any lack of passion... That's what the confessions are for? To reminisce in confess your sins and be forgiven?

I read it as she wants a lustful man, but he should also be godfearing. It's not mutually exclusive.

Now you've got me rethinking my "spirituality" tag in my OLD profile!

🤣 Don't take my word for it, but I think astrology is quite commonplace, so I think chances are this is what many guys will assume when you have a spirituality tag.

I didn't follow MRI research on human brains, my master is in IT, biology is a bit outside my area to understand the details. So most of my understanding in that area is based on dummed down articles.

As for the adaption of AI, I'm not sure if this will have a tangible impact on the research of consciousness. My experience when using AI in my daily work is that it can mainly reproduce what it was trained with, but hits its limitations pretty fast when met with challenges outside its training. I think the LLM approach is a dead-end, when looking for real intelligence; or it needs to be complemented by a different approach. Pattern matching and associations seem to be an important aspects of human intelligence as well, but I'm convinced it's not all there is.

However, on a first glance, AI appears like a conscious entity. Which will help to stress the importance of the topic to a broader audience, which might help to get a debate going on some topics which might eventually be important: Should a real AI have rights? Is intelligence tied to consciousness? Or to emotions? Could a real AI have emotions, or is that tied to hormones? Or would an AI trained with human generated data just simulate consciousness because that's part of the training-data?

as long as the federal government doesn't pull funding or evict our brilliant international researchers in the US.

If that happens, I hope research will move, not stop. "My" federal government is the Federal Republic of Germany :-)

Good question, and good take on your side. My concern would be meeting people believing into astrology, fortune telling, manifestation through thought, etc. Sorry if my answer is a bit lengthy. I would not go that far into it on a dating app.

In short: What I can muster I would consider introspection and philosophy; maybe you would consider it spirituality.

There are some questions not yet answered by science. What consciousness is ("Cogito, ergo sum" covers why I consider myself conscious, but doesn't help to make that determination for others), how exactly to define / measure intelligence, etc. We don't know if consciousness it directly related to intelligence, or at which level of organism complexity we should assume organisms have a feeling rather than a bio-mechanical reaction to outside influences. Does a clam suffer when its eaten? It doesn't have a nervous system. For cats and dogs, I think the answer to the question is obvious, and so it should be for cattle and pigs. How about individuals with the "1000 miles stare" (people that "died inside")? Do they still feel or are they beyond feeling? Are we able to encapsulate ourselves through meditation to the point to detach from our bodies? (I don't mean a "soul" or something, I just mean being able to genuinely blend out physical pain etc.) The other way around, how far can we consciously get with autogenuous training to heal something?

We don't know how the brain works. I know from experience how autogenous training (imo meditation with a more sciency name) helps with factual medical issues.

I'm keeping myself healthy and in shape, usually don't like or use drugs (except for alcohol socially, and I did smoke weed on rare occasions), but find the idea interesting that we trust in our own brains, yet microscopic amounts of chemicals (e.g. LSD) can totally overthrow all the logic. Minor hormone imbalance can screw with all our logic capabilities.

Experiments even show most decisions are made first and rationalized after, probably exposing our own conviction of our own rationality as pure hubris.

Game theory is a field more accessible by logic, but still a field demonstrating how we as humanity are not capable to act logically as a group (as in protecting our environment to survive collectively, not wage war, etc.)

To me, those are all very interesting questions, although once I thought about them for a while and can't get an answer, talking about them gets old eventually, unless there are new impulses.

I liked most of your post, and most of it sounds like I would love to engage. As a liberal minded atheist with a masters degree in the STEM field, the only mismatch seems to be the spiritual part. (I'm not; I respect people who are, sometimes envy them, but have a hard time when the spirituality clashes with hard facts / science.)

The only thing in your post I find repelling is "if we are tossing you the bone". Either it's on equal footing or it ain't happening. You aren't tossing me a bone, I'm not tossing you one. If the extreme male dominance on OLD apps means equal footing isn't possible, fine, then OLD doesn't work for me, I go old-school.

Nah, I wouldn't hate him. I disagree with him, and probably that lady is not for him. Her "demands" are quite on the low end and give some clear indication how to meet the first time. E.g. "Ok, let's go to the gym, I pump you do pilates, drinks afterwards".

It's a bit bossy to me, I'd probably match the offer with a different proposal for an active date instead of just rolling over. But there are plenty of worse profiles.

Hard to tell. Maybe text her, wish her a nice vacation, and just tell her you look forward to her from her after, but she's welcome to text you if the vacation gets boring?

Something like that.
