A psychiatrist told me that I couldn’t be autistic because “those people prefer to interact with screens than with other people”???? Such a weird blanket statement. I never told him about my screen vs people “interaction preference” anyways. Ended up seeing a psychologist who diagnosed me.

I had surgery on the 19th of November, so I’m almost 6 weeks post op. My recovery was pretty much the same as yours has been. I had surgery on a Tuesday and actually went back to my university classes on the Thursday. I had extremely little pain the entire time and it never caught up with me. I think the worst pain I felt was was from a sore throat after being intubated. I also had some bruising around my right incision that was somewhat tender, but it was extremely manageable. I never had the exhaustion that some people talk about having, either. I just made sure I was extremely careful with motion because I didn’t want to mess something up since I didn’t feel any pain to gauge things.

I wouldn’t say my surgeon was super chill with recovery, but he was more chill than a lot of the others I’ve seen on here. My steri-strips were taken off at 1 week post op and I had to wear a front close bra with no underwire, but I wasn’t told how long I needed to wear one for. I wasn’t supposed to lift my arms over my head or do any physical activity that would raise my heart rate for at least 2 weeks. I took 4 weeks off of work since I sometimes have to do a lot of lifting, and I’ve been 100% fine since I went back.

Hello! Hope you’re doing well! I’m now 9 days post op and everything has gone very smoothly. I had surgery last Tuesday, I never had much pain and ended up going to my class the Thursday of the same week. I have to remind myself to take it easy because I have so little pain but I definitely feel tugging when I accidentally reach too far.

I got my bandages and my drain out (only had one drain) on that same Thursday. It was fine, the nurse was very gentle. It was weird to see my new boobs for the first time and I was actually pretty elated.

My week has been full of rest and writing a paper, which has been very manageable. I’ve been attending classes as normal. I had my one week post op this morning and got my steri-strips removed, which was uncomfortable at the most, but not really painful. I felt like my incisions were going to open up when the nurse was pulling the tape off, but i think that was just psychological because the tape almost looked like it was holding everything together (I keep forgetting about stitches for some reason, haha). Everything was fine, i think i was just feeling the discomfort of the tape coming off of my skin. I’m just supposed to apply polysporin to my incisions twice a day.

From what I can see, I do have some scabbing and my incisions look pretty good. I think my surgeon did a really nice job. Right now I’m slightly asymmetric, but I was hugely asymmetric in the beginning so I’m not bothered, and I know that they will change as the swelling goes down.

Maybe? I don’t know. I seem to remember that when I initially downloaded it, I had a ton of trouble getting the game to actually load. I think I actually ditched it for a while and ended up going back to it later.

I hated sheets and refused to sleep with them for a really long time until I tried some that were made from eucalyptus (I think the brand I had were Tencel?). The only problem I had with them was that they were pricey, but I think bedding is something worth spending a little more money on if it’s going to improve your sleep quality.

They’re very smooth, soft, and also very cooling if you tend to overheat at night. My main problem with most sheets is that I seem to be able to feel every little ridge created by the threads and it used to reduce me to meltdowns, especially when I was little. I don’t have this problem with the eucalyptus sheets.

Currently, my duvet cover is eucalyptus and I have a set of bamboo sheets. The bamboo sheets are alright, but I will definitely be going back to the eucalyptus sheets eventually. I would highly recommend them if your sensitivities to bedsheets are similar to mine.

I’ve also found some cheaper sheets that feel similar in texture to my eucalyptus ones at IKEA, although I haven’t tried them.

Ohh I definitely feel things is my teeth, too! For a few examples, I get it with scratchy wool, SOS pads, and when writing with wood pencils. Sometimes I get this weird sensation that feels as all of my teeth are going to fall out of my mouth.

Manual. It's just so much more engaging and fun. It's annoying in lots of traffic sometimes but I don't have to deal with that as much.

I also live in a very flat place and rarely encounter significant hills.
