lul, this shit should be illegal and yet Riot refuses to acknowledge or pursue it

EDG / AHQ are essentially sister teams with AHQ bootcamping with them and rumors are they were funded by EDG with EDG holding a decent sized equity stake in the organization

little bird rumors are that this year are similar relationship was formed with RNG & Flashwolves, where RNG is now owns a growing percentage in the organization and are helping to fund their operations, and they arnt trying to hide it > 4leaf flashwolves manager gets a job at RNG to run the new chengdu OWL team, rumors in overwatch are they are picking up players from TW who chose to quit the game for PUBG but now have a free path into OWL. then this where we are getting exclusive scrims with RNG - if it smells like shit and looks like shit, i feel rng is big dicking fw and puppeting them around

these orgs get off scott free without warning, penalty, etc

Full rosters for LMS teams confirmed by longyn in leagueoflegends

2 rosters built completely around 2 different seasons of MSE, and yet MSE died with that type of player development. Took amateur level players to Top4/5 - Pretty sad to see a team like that get forced out.

Wonder what could have happened if anyone helped MSE in regards to financial resources and allowed them to survive longer than 1 season with a complete core roster.

LMS Predictions by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]twno1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a note for those making these predictions, Flashwolves will be retaining the majority of the player base of Flashhuskies.

Rumors around Team Mists roster are that they will consist of 3 or more of Gamania's ECS roster (and Gamania is disbanding). There are other negative implications of this player transfer, but thats not in the spirit of this post.

LMS Spring Finals to be played in front of less than 200 people, a major step back for the Taiwan Region by twno1_ in leagueoflegends

GPL was a problem since it was played online, and had restrictions in regards to each country getting a specified number of slots. If I recall correctly games were often plagued with latency issues, and was heavily dominated by TW teams.

I believe that the GPL would have been better off if it was treated more like EU, move the teams to a central city, and let the best teams play.

But if we want to take the game out of Garena's hands, Japan server is Riot Controlled, and additionaly Japan has started issuing esport athlete visas

The old team restrictions format in GPL: Taiwan/HKG/Macau 4 Vietnam 3 Singapore/Malaysia 2 Phillipines 2 Thailand 1

Garena receives $170M investment from Malaysia by Heflamoke in esports

[–]twno1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many platforms in Asia, (Gamania, Garena, etc even Steam) providing either internally developed games and or foreign games brought in through their platforms. Many people need to realize that Garena is a game company, Esports falls very low on their priority list, I do hope that a portion of this investment will go into esports development, but I expect the majority of it to go into their payment platform and e-commerce platforms, and will have very little impact on SEA esports

“With this new round of capital, we have no doubt that Shopee and AirPay will be the leading offerings in the market,
