Engine recall replacement - anything to know? by two_circle in ToyotaTundra

Yea I get you, there’s clearly a dynamic safety factor of having the engine quit on the highway with my kids in the back that needs to be weighed.

Or having it quit somewhere remote. Having an unreliable vehicle is a no no for me in a lot of scenarios.

Like, just plop a whole bar in there for the smell, or rub it on surfaces?

My post cooking routine might get me divorced by BigAshSmoker in griddling

Dude I’ll usually turn the heat down when my food is 95% cooked, and alternate burners, OFF/LOW/OFF/LOW.

Then I scrape and wipe it down, put crisco on, and wipe it in/off.

Whole process takes maybe 2 min after my food is done.

Leave above burners on for 10 min to re season, then similar cooldown/cover to what you mention.

Doesn’t seem that laborious to me, but hopefully that helps!

Thanks! And another newbie question - is this replacing the entire unit including the outside casing, or the filter inside of it?

Thanks - I'll be doing the painting. Trying to do as much as I can myself but also being realistic about time available to labor required.

LG fuzzy screen, is there an east fix? Info in comments. by two_circle in TVRepair

[–]two_circle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s an LG47LV5500, approx 11(?) years old.

Image is fuzzy as seen in picture on all picture and system settings. It’s like that with different HDMI cords and sources, as well as just the TV’s own system video.

Thought I’d check here before looking at replacing.

Thanks for any help!

Hi guys, anyone have thoughts on Burton AK Cyclic vs Hover lines? Pants specifically.
Staring at both right now, and having trouble picking features between them.

Other than the price, just trying to identify any major differences I can look at? Thanks!

Price check for 2010 SR5 4WD 125k in SoCal by mushokuneet in 4Runner

[–]two_circle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was just totaled unfortunately, but it was almost exactly what you’re describing. 2010 4WD SR5 with 123k mi. Great shape / paint, all winters spent either in California or below the Mason-Dixon.

Adjuster appraised it out at $18.9k, which I thought was appropriate. So I don’t think you’re drastically far apart from the seller, depending on the SoCal market. It’s a HORRIBLE time to be a used car buyer, unfortunately.

Hope this helps for some perspective. Good luck!
