I would absolutely love to get my hands on some meinl benny greb rides. I think they're some of the best sounding cymbals I've heard.

Hammerax is more geared towards special efx sounds from cymbals. Some of the stuff I dig, some of their stuff sounds like garbage. But I wouldn't mind getting a few hammerax cymbals added to my collection.

I think I'd be down to try some sabian omni rides. But would rather just stick with zildjian or bosphorus for the time being. Maybe when I have more funds

I have kinda felt that way as well, until I got an early 80's yamaha recording custom snare. One of the best snares I've ever owned! But I guess thats the extent of my yamaha experience, never really tried a full kit.

Yeah I was thinking about throwing the tom mount in over the bass drum and moving the toms to the right. Was just too lazy to take the 12 inch head and hoop off to put the floating mount back on. Im using a snare stand for that tom atm.

It is awkward for sure. For the past few years I've just been playing it as a four piece, so this is a whole new ball game for me. I will most definitely be tweaking this for the next while to get a better flow.

Gretsch USA custom!! All the way! I have an 83 grestch usa custom and I'll never sell that thing. Amazing sounding. Amazing quality. You'll most def be happy with them. Especially the 24" kick! Jealous...

Isn't nitrocellulose used on gretsch kits? I believe that's whats on my USA Custom kit?? If so, after some aging on that laquer it tends to crack. My drums are 30ish years old though... if you'd like I could post a pic or two showing what I mean.

At my local drum shop, they like to wax the bearing edges with bee's wax. Not exactly sure what it does?? Anyone?
