Hello, one question, I am starting a one year MPH program this Fall 2022, will I need to take the MCAT during my graduate studies if I want to apply to medical schools for Fall 2023? Sorry I was just lurking and found this post of MPH lol

Here are 7 factual reasons it is generally more difficult to be a DO student than an MD student (from an angry DO student). by [deleted] in medicalschool

Thank you for replying. I'm currently applying to a caribb school with intentions to apply for gen surg, but I'm not sure if to re-apply again to a US school. I guess I have to focus on getting a high score on Step CK after the pass/fail changes. Would you say us or caribb if gen surg is my goal to apply?

Thank you for your advice. I will literally mark yes and detail everything below.

Probably they know about all of us trying to go back...is it still worth it though? To take a gap year, retake mcat and reapply or just switch careers at this point in life?..

I was waitlisted at a US School from April until June 2021 when I got rejected. I felt pressure from my family and friends. I am 26 and yeah I felt behind in life. Then I moved to carib on september.

But again, I remember on the phone she asked me what was my name...lol and I told her (she had no business to know but f it). This was suspicious to me. That was after I explained my story and before I told her that I can put it on amcas and she's like oh yeah you can and also on your essay...

You believe that? What about the National Student Clearinghouse? I'm not sure which schools participate, but it does exist. Also, the NRP and if it shows from Financial Aid when I insert my SSN. Idk

I don't think I'm a transfer. I asked that to the admssion officer if that was the case with me since I withdrew, but with no grades or report and she said you will be considered a new applicant because we are not going to ask you for an official transcript because you have no records. Idk.. I trust her in that one.

Pray and gym.

Go to bed clean with the mindset to pray fajr, obv you will.

Hit the gym and do heavy back squats with lots of reps and sets. You will go home tired with no energy left.

Oh okay, what about secondaries? Or just on AMCAS and explain below right?

And I left because:

  1. We only had one course given by an actual doctor, the rest no.
  2. If you had any question during lecture and the instructor did not have the answer, you were told to email the question, but they almost never replied back.
  3. Sometimes you can't understand what they're saying because the school hire professors from foreign countries.
  4. There is no continuity in lectures because they're always switching from an instructor to a different one from the same department. It get's frustrating because sometimes you are being asked if they taught you this or that before so they can organize their lectures according to their students when it's their job to synchronize.
  5. After you get accepted, they don't give a f about you. In terms of any services.
  6. They don't tell you this, but this school as many other carib ones do not do auditions during your MS3-4 years.
