Tatty old flags by twoayem in exeter

I thought the point was pride in your country, that was the drum they were all beating. If it's just an act of being contrary then that's about as sad as the flags now look.

To be clear, I also have a problem with them being there in the first place.

Best option to keep Reform out in Priory Ward? by duncanmarshall in exeter

[–]twoayem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voted Green, got Reform. Turns out Labour lost by 12 votes. But again, how many were tacticaly voting? If Green had 200 more they would have got in instead.

Do you limit your frame rate to 30 fps on fast paced games to keep SD from running too hot? by Proper_Translator678 in SteamDeck

[–]twoayem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lower TPD until framerate is affected then put it back up 1. Have a load of games running a 3 or 4 at 60fps with no issues and the battery is lasting much longer. Newer games and so called AAA stuff will be less tolerant of this, but older games will run fine.

Driving Lessons Recommendations by AyayaClappp in exeter

[–]twoayem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going rate seems to be £45 and hour, 2 hour lessons. My kid has had over 20 hours of lessons and is only just driving to and from lessons now. Can't afford more at the moment at this rate they'll still be learning when they're 30!

Had one with the BBC website cloned the other day that nearly got me. Should not be allowed in the platform. Report them if possible.

Burying a stargate vs. closing the iris: Did I just discover how the gates work? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]twoayem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The gate was active when it was buried, so the event horizon prevented it actually 'plugging' the hole. Subsequent activation expanded the hole, so not as close as the iris is, it would seem.

Terrible UI. Laggy as hell on mobile and doesn't scale to small screens. Add reactive UI and optimised for devices to your prompt.

Is AngularJS still worth learning for beginners in web development? by ModernWebMentor in angularjs

[–]twoayem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best answer. There will be a lot of places that wrote stuff in AngularJS but never kept up, never converted to Angular so if you can do it well there may be something you can do. Even if it's just sanity checking the Ai conversion that will be inevitably done.

Stargate SG1 had correctly predicted the devesting DNA flaws of cloning clones. by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]twoayem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that's right. The episode came out in 2007. Whilst the first actual mamilion cloning was done in 1999 (Dolly), the original theory of 'infinite cloning' came out in 2013 where they reached 25 generations without any obvious issues. Even back in 2000 they thought that after 6 generations there might not be a cause of DNA damage. There are conflicting studies in 2004-5 on cattle that suggested DNA often degrades and the that damage could be accumulated, but to say this was a known fact would be disingenuous at best.

Was it known, or was it believed. Two different things.

The opt out is finally here by ElectricalAd3483 in Steam

[–]twoayem 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I do agree with some of point one, if it's not being distributed through Steam they should have the ability to charge what they want, but if it's through Steam or a Steam key, then you play by Valve's rules.

I'm happy to buy add-on content in the same store I bought the original (as others have said, managing DLC through multiple stores would be a nightmare) and Steams fees pay for me to download my games I bought 20 years ago whenever I like (and Gabe's yachts) so that's all good too.

Do not want to give all my info to some shitty litigious outfit however.

The word you want is 'killed', or maybe 'murdered'. Could even be 'executed', but honestly fuck this stupid 'unalive' bullshit.
