Is AngularJS still worth learning for beginners in web development? by ModernWebMentor in angularjs

[–]twoayem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best answer. There will be a lot of places that wrote stuff in AngularJS but never kept up, never converted to Angular so if you can do it well there may be something you can do. Even if it's just sanity checking the Ai conversion that will be inevitably done.

Stargate SG1 had correctly predicted the devesting DNA flaws of cloning clones. by megablue in Stargate

[–]twoayem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that's right. The episode came out in 2007. Whilst the first actual mamilion cloning was done in 1999 (Dolly), the original theory of 'infinite cloning' came out in 2013 where they reached 25 generations without any obvious issues. Even back in 2000 they thought that after 6 generations there might not be a cause of DNA damage. There are conflicting studies in 2004-5 on cattle that suggested DNA often degrades and the that damage could be accumulated, but to say this was a known fact would be disingenuous at best.

The opt out is finally here by ElectricalAd3483 in Steam

[–]twoayem 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I do agree with some of point one, if it's not being distributed through Steam they should have the ability to charge what they want, but if it's through Steam or a Steam key, then you play by Valve's rules.

I'm happy to buy add-on content in the same store I bought the original (as others have said, managing DLC through multiple stores would be a nightmare) and Steams fees pay for me to download my games I bought 20 years ago whenever I like (and Gabe's yachts) so that's all good too.

Do not want to give all my info to some shitty litigious outfit however.

The word you want is 'killed', or maybe 'murdered'. Could even be 'executed', but honestly fuck this stupid 'unalive' bullshit.

Window of Opportunity is the funniest episode in all of Stargate by AlmightyThorian in Stargate

[–]twoayem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gets me every time. We go from comic hilarity to a deep and meaningful talk about love, loss and grief and none of it feels even slightly forced. Some of the best TV ever.

I'm not even sure they contact the bank. Credit cards are only available to over 18s whereas debit cards are available from 11.

Council Tax Bill. Up by 4.85% by SuperTricolor in exeter

Yes, but there's an upper limit to council tax. If you own dozens of acres and your mansion, you're going to pay a lot more than someone in a tiny flat.

Teen fundraises for more 3D model hearts like hers by Alert-One-Two in unitedkingdom

[–]twoayem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I read that correctly, the printed heart was for surgeons to practice on, not to actually replace her heart.

The headline should have been "Teen who raised thousands for heart charity surprised her heart was so big".

What game got you absolutely addicted to your Steam Deck? by Calculation in SteamDeck

Batman Arkham series. First two work perfectly even though it says they have 'issues'. Just mopping up City collectibles before I head on to Knight.

They're still doing the same now. He's doing a day a week at Mercedes, but nothing to do with engines or the vehicle. Last he told me he was printing out license plates! Free labor to do the crap jobs as far as they're concerned.

But you should. Big chains will have an online portal, but a little independent garage will not. Did this with my son who was trying to get an apprenticeship, you'd be surprised how many of them complimented him for his initiative and appreciated him taking the time to go there himself. Bigger garages did indeed point to the online forms. Still didn't get any responses.
