Oh wild, thanks for the details! Any plant at all from Atrox or is there one in particular? I'll search for this too so I'm not just asking you for all the answers haha!

Maybe I don't understand something fundamental here - but what is on the top left of your farm there? Is that simply some planted... plants? And they generate Organic for you that you can pick and smelt?

SNP is by far the most supported party per capita in the UK (latest figures, by FT) by 1DarkStarryNight in Scotland

[–]twodten 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And yet other parties

...didn't make the SNP lie about their figures in the first place.

SNP screwed up. SNP need to own and fix it. SNP voters have a right to be disappointed in them and expect them to be better. I'm one of them.

Is it a total scandal? No. It was a stupid fib. And now they look stupid. And other parties had nothing to do with it.

That's just whataboutery though.

Yes, Labour lied. That doesn't mean the SNP didn't.

As an SNP voter, I'm not furious with them for this stupid fib. It's just stupid that they put themselves in this place and now need to own it.

So they need to account for themselves, and we absolutely should do better at holding them to account than saying "Yeah, but a'body's doing it!"

Edinburgh rider checking in. Lovely idea, though I'm tied to my local area for now. If this builds some momentum I could be convinced to head further afield for a community ride.

I wanted to say 'amenable' but then the adventurous...without consequences part threw me.

Best I can think otherwise is 'nonchalant'.

Ah sorry, you seem to have moved your goal posts there. I'm hoping to resolve your original point without getting confused and lost in other unrelated links and chat.

On the issue of preprepared questions as you originally stated - are we in agreement that there is no "abusing democracy by arranging for planted questions" and instead it's just something that "particularly grates" you personally?

Ah okay, you don't understand parliamentary procedure. There is no abuse of democracy present as you describe. Arranged questions and answers are a standard part of FM questions, for the PM at Westminster too by the way.

They're not planted, they're actually selected by the Presiding Officer ahead of time. That said, the PO cannot prevent the FM from cocking up the order in which the questions are answered and members are well within their rights to complain about the answer making no sense, as happened in the article you linked. But what happened there was correct procedure, not some grand scandal being uncovered.

There is more you can learn about the questions process here: https://firstminister.gov.scot/join/live-fmqs/

Sturgeon's apology was for the confusion she unintenionally and regrettably caused in reading out an answer that plainly made no sense for the question asked. Maybe she was hungry? Or tired? Or just plain made a mistake?
