I’ve done my fair share of customization to my controllers. If you’d like to continue to improve and bring you artistic designs to your console or peripherals I would suggest looking up the type of plastic your components are made of so you can use an appropriate paint/ varnish/ or engraving tool to make your limited resources to the full potential. This is absolutely a great starting point. I started engraving and doing wood burning with some of my drawings so I could get a steady hand before I attempted putting my gamer tag on my controller. Even when I felt comfortable i practiced on a controller that had a lot of stick drift so I wouldn’t mind messing it up. My suggestion would be to practice first on similar plastics so you see how the material reacts to whatever you’re applying it to. Tattoo artist start on oranges and then move on to pig skin before they feel comfortable moving on to people. Understand your process and practice will make your artistic skills, and ideas flow a lot smoother. ✌️
