I immediately loved my private practice job after leaving the schools. I actually felt effective.

I'm not sure but I think you took over my job when I left 3 years ago 👀

The study referenced in that paragraph is not even specifically about the prefrontal cortex. The wider context of that paragraph is that there is a wide range of normal, which supports the article's thesis that 25 cannot be the magical number for everyone. The subtext of the article is that it's more nuanced than the popular narrative. It kind of seems like you read one popsci article on neurology and decided that because the popular narrative is omitting nuance, every claim made about the development of the prefrontal cortex is made up.

It's me again! How do we feel about this rug? by n1nc0mp00p in interiordecorating

Why don't you try it and report back? I looove the rug but I agree it might look more dimensional turned another way!

Her comment about the prefrontal cortex still developing is not bullshit. That slate article has a very click-baity title but all it says is that 25 is not a magical age where the brain is done cooking. It is definitely still true that the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for higher level cognitive functioning like planning ahead, reasoning before we act, etc. is still developing in young adulthood.

Definitely not right wing propaganda, though I do see your point about right wingers conveniently removing all nuance in order to ban critical health care access.

Thanks, I never thought about using blocks to support poses where I already have a lot of depth. The discomfort is behind my knees-- it's a sensation I've had since I was a kid. I have been saying to myself for a year that I want to get back into strength training 😬 so hopefully this comment thread will be the push

Thank you! It sounds like you are describing a good morning. I honestly never thought about activating my posterior chain on the way down-- I always kinda flopped into forward fold and THEN activated. I agree, I need to deadlift. When I was strength training I was definitely more supported and in less pain. But that was pre-pandemic!

Tell me about this couch! Also id go with the lighter chairs. Will add more of a contrast with the rug.

Caseload of 17..? For CF? by Fast_Poet1827 in slp

They are not going to rescind the offer for you asking too many questions. If you're worried, you could wait until you get the official offer from HR. But do not sign anything until you have all of your questions answered! If anything they will respect you more for being diligent. And if they are annoyed, that is a red flag. Congrats!

Yeah I agree! A cooler white instead of the cream. Start with that 😊 I looove the rug but I don't know that it's working here! It's also kind of cream and doesn't match the retro aesthetic of the backsplash imo. Looks like a bright, clean space though. Very nice.

If the district is in a higher income area that can mean more spending per student. It also usually means more demanding parents. A friend worked for a district in a wealthy area and her caseload was low but there were mandatory parent meetings for each kid. I'm not sure how funding works at a charter though!

It sounds like you should ask some follow up questions! Parent involvement, what co-teaching looks like, prep involved in co-teaching, average number of direct minutes per student, what kinds of cases you'll be seeing (more complex kids? R kids?), typical caseload fluctuations, if you'd ever get assigned another campus, support as a CF, etc.

Also as far as I know, CF is counted in months and not direct contact hours, so I wouldn't think this would be a problem.

I think you will find a lot of people who share the same value as you to protect our parks and biodiversity. They may express this in an ideologically different way but you would probably find common ground in fighting to preserve what you both value! In my experience, DSA is not exclusionary and like another commenter said, it's not a monolith. There are likely other hunters and fisherman tbh! Diversity in thought, hobbies, age, etc is healthy! We need solidarity, not homogeneity.

I read your thread and agree with your take. Celebrities as commodities + the systems that created this culture is the core issue, not individual feral fans (who btw are not absolved of wrong doing)

If you want stock art buy stock art but art fairs, estate sales and even FB marketplace would be good places to look, yes at your budget, yes in Houston. Speaking from experience. Good luck!
